World Hub is live now?

Featured Replies

AFAIK the updated airports are the result of the closed World Hub beta which is still running.

Very nice that they published those airports. I only checked one litte airfield in northern Australia so far and the taxiway markers etc. are spot on.

Ok, thanks. This makes sense. So I guess the World Hub is still in alpha/beta testing, but the changes from the alpha/beta test have been pushed to the live MSFS market for download.

Yeah, can't wait for smaller GA airports as well in the US!

You could always post some suggestions for airports in need of a cleanup, and hope that one of the beta testers does it. There were very few US airports on the list of the WorldHub update. Maybe open up a new thread in the official forum?

This caught me by surprise. I thought the World Hub was still undergoing alpha/beta testing. But FSElite is saying the first batch of changes from the World Hub are live already: https://fselite.net/content/first-batch-of-world-hub-airports-updated-on-msfs/

Don't overestimate that for now the World Hub can only fix a limited number of thing : removing vegetation, changing layout (apron, starting position...), fixing taxiway names.... But don't expect new buildings at the correct place 😉

I was hoping to fix some US airports but the process in the WorldHub light-scenery-editor is more or less the same as doing it for a full freeware. I'm still hesitating in one side investing time in the World Hub or doing fix and enhancement as stand-alone freeware 😉

Can it possibly fix the size limits of the gates of airports ( Like the unfortunately affected MKJS?)

The differences are: on the one hand, you are absolutely free in design choices creating your own freeware improvement (and can use third party software like ADE), but on the other hand it will be of no benefit for XBOX users or those who don't install addons. As I understand it, you might be able to re-use the xml code of the world hub improvement for your own project (with some fiddling, of course 😅).

Can they not add or reposition buildings at all? Was under the impression that it was possible to do that using the built-in structure library - just not custom buildings.

Does anyone know whether these restrictions will eventually be lifted so that more ambitious renovations can be undertaken? The corresponding X-Plane scenery gateway, the functionality of which MSFS World Hub provides, does permit use of the native scenery building assets within XP. Is there any reason to think that World Hub would not eventually provide similar capabilities?

Thanks.

I think they wiill update the global data for the fixed airports sometime in the future, so that we don't have to download the fixed airports. So when they do the global update, XBox users will also benefit from it.

Today, you can create a polygon to exclude building(s) but there's no way to add (even stock library) objects (no Scenery type object).

The main issue for me, is that TODAY the World Hub allows anyone (in the Beta program) to update some of the major flaw of the auto-generated airports but some building(s) will stay totally wrong and will kill 100% of the energy to update a taxiway line... Just to give you a (stupid) example. Another example, I personally love to add fences (or any object) in the sight of view of pilots. The vector placement feature doesn't exist (yet) in the World Hub Scenery Editor.

Look at this huge stupid hangar at Saint-Cyr, LFZP. Does it worth to work on the apron object, add taxiway, parking position, add vegetation, remove vegetation... with this stuff in the background?
