Typically these days we have a primary product team, then a much smaller support team to do the followups. The support and tidy group is usually entirely separate from the teams leading flagship titles. We are lucky that the sim has proven popular in sales, which makes a support team cost effective to create all the service packs. Sometimes in the lifecycle of a product we have to draw a line on service packs simply because the cost to develop the pack outweighs the current strength of sales revenue, based on a calculated "per head revenue" generation of everyone in the team. Keeping service teams smaller really keeps the costs down and drives that equation of salary vs revenue contribution for each dev to something manageable.

its shame none of them over the last 4 years couldnt of spent a couple of days fixing the 787,  what with all the revenue thats been made.

As @Bond says above, I also thought I heard Jorg say the week around the 7th of May, but he did mumble it because he was acting like he was a bit embarrassed about the delay.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I've noticed in the latest beta build that performance is great, but my GPU temps are spiking. Hopefully, whatever is causing my temps to spike will be fixed.

No misunderstanding. He states unequivocally May 7th. Thanks for finding that

Working Title spent literally months in developing AAU2, which was primarily aimed at improving the accuracy and performance of the 787 (and 747). That aircraft is in far far better shape today than it was when MSFS first launched thanks to their efforts.

Ugh.  I don’t even care about the Airbus at this point; would rather just have the other performance improvements and fixes.

Maybe they are going to surprise with an A-400 to go along with new cities in Germany?

Don't bother. They hate the new 787 and 747 for some reason.

They did.

Asobo and Working Title improved it.

No worries. Rather have it be released without breaking too many other things.

Should be clear now:

Also announced during the livestream was an update on the Sim Update 15 release date. While we had previously revealed a tentative launch date of April 30, we now think an additional week of development time is necessary. This will be the last Sim Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) prior to the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 later this year (but not the final Sim Update for MSFS2020 ever — SU_16 is planned for early 2025), so the team really wants to make sure SU_15 in an excellent state before we release it.
