July 2, 20241 yr I had a sim freeze on final just before touchdown. Almost crashed my aircraft. But it's very random and doesn't happen everytime. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive
July 2, 20241 yr the 737 has/had a flight plan load bug. I would hope with my bug report it was not doing same with 777. Here is bug if anyone needs to make sure: Russell Gough SE London
July 2, 20241 yr So it looks like the 777 has the same FMC bug the 737 has. It does not happen often in my 737 but if it happens you need to restart the sim. Very annoying. No way I'm going to buy the 777 as long as this bug isn't fixed.

With 'my bug' the freeze only occurs when you enter ANYTHING into the flight plan name field BEFORE loading plan. It ALWAYS freezes when doing that. Russell Gough SE London

I don't remember touching anything last minute in the FMC tho? Either way, it was absolutely infuriating after that amount of time. In my last flight I had this total freeze on approach. Slightly annoying (English understatement) after an eight hour flight from Heathrow to Nairobi. Exactly the same symptoms as I used to get with the 737; panel frozen, yoke still worked so I could land, but throttles frozen so I couldn't stop on the runway. My workaround with the 737, after much reading of forum posts, was to use only TA, not TA/RA. Looks like I'll be doing the same with the 777, because I suspect the same bug has been transmitted to their latest model. Petraeus

Thanks for the heads up.
July 4, 20241 yr From RR's description of today's update 'The second significant find is something we have been chasing in the 737 and 777 for some time. This one would come about if a specific type of RA event was experienced during flight, the TCAS suppression logic would fault out dramatically when landing, thus ruining your flight. We believe we have corrected the part of this tantrum that was causing the drama. (That isn't to say there isn't drama someplace else- but we found this one...)' Petraeus

July 4, 20241 yr 1 hour ago, Bigt said: You just trying to repeat what someone else said before you or what? No, just in case someone missed it, I did this months ago, and never had a freeze since then. Hey, if you don't like to do that, just leave RA on. I couldn't care less.
July 4, 20241 yr Hopefully the problem is fixed with this update so one can use TA/RA without problems. Petraeus
