ATR72 - possible TRIM problem

Featured Replies

I've had trouble connecting to my user profile a couple of times (most recently when Xbox Live went down) and both times I got a mini-setup wizard when starting MSFS that prompts you to setup your assistance and graphics settings again. I have all my assistance settings disabled so it's immediately obvious when they've reset themselves. Fortunately the controller settings are never lost as that would be.... upsetting.

You are right Ed.  Last I heard, the developer was looking at doing the highly requested freight version, so if it arrives, there might be another batch of bug fixes released along with it, I hope!

  • Glad you got it sorted.  I can’t remember if I’d ever seen that setting and I don’t have my computer with me at work here, so I wasn’t able to look.     Enjoy flying it!  If you’ve got any othe

Not normal. It should be kept at the value shown in the EFB. Since there are several pages that should be opened in the EFB (payload pages), try different ways until you'll get your value properly tra

I was thinking later and wondering why none of all those who were trying to help me and sort out the problem suggested that I look at Assistance options, Is AI trim new?

I just removed everything from the Community folder (was that what you meant?) and the problem continues. The ATR was not in the community folder, it is located in OneStore.

removed by me. the wrong quoted topic showed up.

Your initial problem (many posts) was only with one aircraft, the ATR.

That is correct. I might then ask why no one asked if there was a (trim) problem with any other aircraft.

Maybe then I should have checked other aircraft before even posted the initial question.

I should have also remembered that I had just reinstalled MSFS which could have caused a problem  (changed all my assistant settings as others have mentioned from time to time in other threads).

Easy to say now in hindsight.

Should have 'stepped out of the square' I guess.

I think it has always been there.

Checking the assistance options is actually something that crossed my mind as I was reading this thread, but I didn't get round to posting it before you found the problem yourself.

The reality with these kinds of problems is that it can be all sorts of things, which makes the problem hard to figure out. People who try to help may not think of all the different possibilities, particularly if they haven't seen them before.

So in light of this, I would say kudos for taking a systematic approach, finding the issue, and reporting on it - from which others may benefit in the future. Don't give yourself a hard time that it took so long to find something that might seem obvious in hindsight - that's just the nature of these kinds of things.

Have fun with the ATR!

I’m still wondering if the sim is getting a command from somewhere to restore the trim to zero. If it’s not coming from an unexpected button or key binding, then maybe there is some kind of “assist” in action? Maybe a virtual co-pilot, or an external configuration app, or an assistance setting within MSFS? Have you tried removing or disabling all other add-ons except the ATR?

I suggested that you look at your assistance settings; see above.

Glad you found the problem.
