MSFS ATR your experiances...

Featured Replies

I have just uninstalled it. The airplane is easy to fly, but not really needed for pure IFR operations:
Every time you have to adjust altitude or heading for the AP, you have to zoom in a lot to see the numbers on the screens.
This is not really useful.
Also, the AP often does not react at all and does not hold on to the setted LNAV and VNAV values.
That would still be acceptable, when de AP not does, what he should, in take over manualy (in every Plane),
but I really don't like it, and that's why it's being removed from the SSD,
Some of the screens are unreadable. The fonts are too thin and unrecognizable. Get rid of it!
What is your experience with the ATR?

Is your camera zoom setting correct for your seating position / screen size.  Just a thought as I don't have any aircraft that have screens hard to read.

my camera zoom is on standard. some nubers and lines in the ATR are with standard zoom hard to see. We can make the fonts larger in settings for precisely this reason, so the developer Hans Hartmann is aware of the problem. However, if you make the digits larger, some numbers no longer fit into the screnn where they should be. - this ATR is the only one, i have this problem. ( i am flying only Addons - like PMDF, Fenix, not standard planes, maybe other standard planes have some troubles also?)

What does this mean?  Have you used a tool like this one to make sure your zoom setting is correct?  If your zoom is zoomed out too far, I would imagine text would be hard to read - as you say you have to zoom in to read text,

i am not using external tools, when you go to settings, in kamera options, "standard" zoom is on 50. its automaic set by MSFS. screen resolution is 2560x1080, which is native on my samsung monitor.

50 sounds WAY too zoomed out, no wonder you are having problems reading text 🙂  As I suggested, use the tool I linked to so your zoom setting is correct, then you won't have problems reading text.

If you use the tool to get the correct field of view for your seating position / monitor, I can guide you how to set the MSFS zoom setting to match.

Much better than yours in almost everything you mention. You’re right. Go ahead and delete it. It will never satisfy you.

I'm curious. Step me through it, please?
According to the tool my monitor and my distance from it are almost "ideal".

Just use the FOV tool. It will likely fix your issue, it did for my ultrawide.

Do you mean the FOV figure the tool gives you is ideal?

The size of the monitor and my distance from it seem to be giving me a pretty 'natural' view, both in the vertical and horizontal plane according to the tool.
I was interested in the MSFS zoom settings although I have been reading that playing around with the default settings in the Options menu isn't the best idea. I generally leave them at default and then adjust them once I'm in the aircraft (both the inside and outside views).

Huh? 50 is the default zoom level and I've been using that for 4 years now.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Thank you for your engagement, but all your words will not make this plane better for me. Its gone from my fleet, and it will not come back into my hangar.
MS and FS2crew have got their money. so i am happy that i have got these software in sale. Full price its not worth.
But thats only my oppinion.

Thanks you, that was the right words!

You can use the preset views and/or create your own with focus on different areas of the panels... But I would rather prefer to have a decent instrument popup and associated system, something that has never worked in MSFS 2020 because if you leave the mouse on the popped window you lose control of the aircraft 😕

Maybe they can find some way around for 2024?
