You would think so, Chris. But so far I've not had an invitation. 🤔

I was going to buy him a hot chocolate, but Stephen Seagull tends to do his low level stunt and grab the biscuit you get with it. I don't think the King would be impressed with that.

Maybe I'll just give him a wave from a distance and attend the next palace garden party.

He gave us a little speech.

Meanwhile, me and my daughter were the other side of the island, on a cliff walk. 😁

Just out of curiosity, what makes King Charles so special?  Did he actually earn his position and wealth, or was it just inherited like in the Middle Ages?

On a cliff walk or walking off a cliff, Martin??  I would have headed to the nearest pub! 🍺

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

I think you know the answer to that, Dave. 🙂

I'm indifferent. I'm not for or against. Hence why I was exploring the cliffs and enjoying nature

No way. Moulin Huet Bay is far better than the pub.

Actually, I don't know that much about the monarchy stuff nowadays.  I'm sure it is different now than it was a hundred years ago, and I was curious if the "new" royals have to earn their positions as opposed to having it all handed to them simply by virtue of their birth into a royal family.

I'm a staunch proponent of meritocracy, so I'm naturally inclined to oppose any people who gain power and money simply by circumstance of birth or family wealth(we have a lot of the latter here in the USA).

Anyway, long live the UK.

The Brits do it in the same way they have for hundreds of years.  First born rules the waves!

Well, I'm a long way from Fairford these days and do miss the airshow. I'm envious.

My daughter and me have considered renting an AirBnB in Fairford for a few days, so we can attend. Not sure if or  when that will be.

Best airshow there is, in my opinion.

The ‘new’ royals? There the same as the old royals.

One hundred years ago King Charles great grandfather George V was on the throne.

It is as Charlie says above, first born scoops the pool. King Charles has two sons; heir and spare. Although in this generation the ‘spare’ doesn’t seem to have taken too kindly to his role.

Very important to remember that although King Charles is head of State of the whole of the UK he doesn’t really have any sort of political power.
The last king of England who thought he did….well, we chopped his head off….

kings speech will the interestng today first time since 1950 hes done it to a labour gov
