Freeware King Air C90B

This is a mod to the default King Air, supposedly by pilots that fly them.

This plane is really very good. It is freeware and is very well done. I use the AFL King Air 350 because I'm more old school and I like analog. But this C90 is very good.

Well it's out for XP12 since over half a year, has 10.000 downloads, 80+ thanks and 40+ reviews. You are daily on the forums and haven't noticed it yet?

If it's so great, why hasn't it been talked about here extensively before? 😉

Well I only just found it.

This plane has been available for download for quite some time. And many people don't know it because unfortunately everything is concentrated in a forum that is a tyranny and where they don't let you express yourself freely. The forum I'm talking about where you can download it to the C90 is this https://forums.x-plane.org.

There are many freeware planes and very good ones. Zibo 737 - IBAV8N C90B - ksgy L-410 - TDDesignWorks Amaguq 4 Place Experimenta - Maudic A320 253N (Neo with CFM Leap engines) - @mSparks Sparky 744. Nice heavy plane and more. All is for XP12

All Glass deck not my cup of tea but realistic. Tried this one some time ago when I was moderately keen on the C90 by Laminar (and a few dodgy modded ones too) It was quite problematic and had a lot of bugs mostly related to the G1000 - that in itself in my view is a bit of a dogs breakfast even now and something Laminar seriously need to sort out - it is counterintuitive and clunky. The XP12 version cannot do what the XP11 version did - graphics and function. Are the Evo mods vis a vis the engines evident - yep you get an uprated King Air - the Laminar can be a real slug some days. Cannot say if the latest is any more straightforward to install!

Yes superbe. Is the plugin source code available?

Quite nice, system is not deep as AFL, but I simply can't stand AFL's flight dynamic, just way off.

I don't have extensive performance chart for C90B, but using the C90/A table and C90B table from  Carenado, it's quite close.

Using keyboard (with X-Keypad) on G1000 is OK, still waiting for RXPGTN support though.

Don't take the comment the wrong way but the flight physics of Carenado planes is highly criticized and all Carenado planes fly the same. It is also good to keep in mind that Carenado does not have planes for X-Plane 12 and AFL does. AFL is one of the best turboprops and the C90B EVO is for X-Plane 12. AFL has very good comments and is very faithful to the real thing and that is what they talk about the most in different places. Greetings!!

I only use it's performance table pdf from C90B I got back in FS9 days, it seems just ripped off from realworld manual.

AFL350's FD is also way off, if you set torque according to the cruise table came with AFL (which also came from realworld manual I assume), you'll overspeed.

Yes mostly (Lua), apart from the X1000 plugin which does only the display of the engine instruments as far as I know. You ask because you want to interface with it? That should be easy.

Mind that the C90B EVO is equipped with PT6-135A instead of -21s, so you'll get more performance up high. This in turn makes C90B cruise tables not applicable. So if you can, find info or a manual for the C90GT, which has the same engines.

If anybody wants winglets, more seats or some company in the cabin: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/91054-king-air-c90b-object-enhancements/
