Microsoft Flight Simulator: Camera jumping around

Hello all, I'm very new to this - hoping for help with this problem.

I've installed Microsoft Flight Sim from Steam on my PC. The problem is that the camera view (cockpit or external) jumps around randomly. It is impossible to use the sim.

I've removed the two add-ons that I'd installed and re-installed MSFS but nothing works. I have a video of the the problem but not sure how to attach it to this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How did you make the video?  If Youtube, then hit the share and copy and paste it into your post

I don't think this is your problem, but the F key will reset the cockpit or the external view. Or Control + Space will do the same thing.

To reset the drone view, use the "Reset Drone Target Offset" command. By default, that command is unassigned for some foolish reason known only to Asobo (you have to assign it to a key or button in order to have any drone reset function). I assigned it to the F key.

Therefore the F key resets all views: cockpit, external, and drone view. (I had to remove the Translate Drone Down assignment from the F key which Asobo made a default function for the F key).

Do you use TrackIR?

Good question; if he does, views jumping around could be caused by parasite lights in the camera's FoV.

Yeah, I get this problem with trackIR and trackclip pro eveey morning and evening when the sun is low.  Pulling the curtains over a bit usually solves it.  It works pretty well nost of the time

Another point is that trackIR needs at least 30 fps to be smooth and the more fps, the smoother it is.

Try setting MSFS to DX11 if you are using DX12.

That is what worked for me.

Thanks Ron,  How do I go about changing the setting?
