If you go onto https://wunderground.com you’ll find thousands of private weather stations like mine that upload data to that site. There’ll be sites on Guernsey that will give you that info. I’d say that was fairly uncomfortable. A breeze always helps of course. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 21, 20241 yr Author It was Monday, Ray. That's an interesting website. Something I have found is that it's always feels warmer here than the temperature suggests. 20C here feels a lot warmer then 20C back in the Midlands.. Edited August 21, 20241 yr by martin-w

My daughter said the same. 15 degrees, but you go out and it "feels" more like 20. Maybe it's inaccurate coastal weather forecasting. Wind factor, humidity. Most likely the humidity variable as you alluded too. Humidity is higher near the ocean, so I understand. My daughter was on Herm a few years back in December and had to take her coat off as she was sweating. Herm has its own microclimate. Edited August 21, 20241 yr by martin-w
August 21, 20241 yr Moderator My lowest humidity readings always occur in the spring as the damp winter air is dried out by the increasing strength of the sun. The lowest I've recorded was a barely believable 17% in March 2017. Desert-like conditions and the max was only 18.5C. Minimum that morning was -0.2C. All the records available here. https://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/record.htm Ray (Cheshire, England). I thought I was the only one: 26ºC at Bucaramanga (my hometown) feel a lot warmer than the same 26°C here at Córdoba. All because of humidity. August 21, 20241 yr The humidity is almost as significant as temperature when it comes to how the weather "feels". We lived in New Mexico for many years and with 10-15% humidity I could stand outside with 38C and it didn't bother me too much. On the other hand, in south Alabama where we lived for a while, it would be 30C with 85% humidity and it felt very uncomfortable. It's 21C with 65% humidity where I am right now and doesn't feel bad at all, so like Ray said, the lower the temperature, the less significant the humidity. It was 10am in late June. The temp was over 100°F but I never sweated. I did of course but it evaporated immediately. I felt thirsty when I got back to the ship and then drank around 2 pints of water before my thirst was quenched. Just goes to show the dangers of low humidity and great heat. Ray (Cheshire, England). The people out there will tell you to drink plenty of water because you can get dehydrated very fast and not realize it until it's too late. About 10 years ago there was a tragic story of a mother and father from France found dead in White Sands National Park. They had ventured too far with too little water and just succumbed to the heat and dehydration. The parents gave their boy more of the water they had and he survived. Very sad. August 22, 20241 yr Heat Index A heat index of 178F/81C! No thanks. It can be strange how dehydration creeps up on you. You don't realize until it's too late, cramps, dizzy, disoriented, very dangerous! Edited August 22, 20241 yr by Antipodeslonghaul
