Nvidia filters - which settings do you prefer?

I agree that I need to find a better solution. I’m not interested in the intense blue tint shown in my screenshot. I only want to make a very subtle change to what I consider a “yellow tint” (for lack of a better description).

Working with the saturation alone is likely your best bet.

Filters have the issue that they backfire. The more you apply, the messier the image becomes. Parts of it may seem better, but other parts will look worse. For instance, a blue tint may help a bit with the grass, but it'll be a punch in the eye on white aircraft.

I've done a couple of tests for sport, and dropping saturation slightly should achieve what you're looking for. You could theoretically do it from the control panel and even from your screen's settings, but the Nvidia app should achieve the same.

Desaturation works on the entire image. All the colours. The more you desturate the "less" the colour will be until you end up with a fully greyscale image. The OP is trying to reduce the yellow tint. Desaturating will only result in all the colours being "weakened" but the colour balance will still remain the same.

You need to have GeForce experience (installed by default with the GPU driver). Once in the sim hit alt-z to bring up the overlay.

Thanks @Cpt_Piett.

I've been using a 3080ti for the last few years now, but I don't remember installing that app and can't find any evidence of it on my system.

Can it be downloaded and installed after the fact?  Cheers,

I'm very aware of that. And the color balance is fine. A slightly desaturated image will make the (natural) yellow less punchy while preserving the (natural) color balance, likely satisfying the OP's requirements just fine without introducing fantasy tints. Again, the color balance in favor of yellow is how the light on Earth works due to physics, not something MSFS has invented.

I surely don't, and I usually skip threads about filters because they don't interest me at all. This is the first one I actually browsed because I didn't see another more interesting thread.

Muy cierto. Todos lo hemos hecho.

Hablando de eso... ¿cómo luce tu Sim? ¿Usas alguna aplicación o software para cambiar su apariencia? Buscamos buenos ejemplos en este hilo.

Entendido. Lo haré.

I'm here to see how people are doing to improve and I also have an eye on the newly announced Rex app. My default output is burnt out buildings in Alicante (Leal) and very yellowish lighting and colors.

To the OP's eyes the colour balance isn't fine. That's the whole point of him trying to use filters to achieve a more pleasing, to his eye, colour balance. Desaturating will pull down his blues as well. He'll just end up with a desaturated image not a colour balanced one.

I'm wondering why it is that you can't understand that he (the OP) is not bothered about how physics affect light. He simply wants his image to have less of a yellow tint.

They mentioned multiple times they're not happy with the blue tint either.

My suggestion is to try with desaturation first. I'm not exactly sure why you feel the need to argue against a less destructive approach that would take them all of 5 minutes to try.

GeForce is no longer available. Have to use their beta app now.

Direct quote from the original post: "It's been mentioned that there's too much of a yellow tint in the sim, which I agree with. I used the colour filter and applied a tint colour of 30% and a tint intensity of 20%. I think the result is a bit better."

How is the use of filters destructive?

You may want to read their other posts in which they say they're not satisfied with the blue tint either.

The more filters you use, the farther you go from natural sunlight, hence, they're a by the book destructive approach to this specific issue.

Again, I'm not sure why you feel the need to argue against an approach that could satisfy the OP's needs and would take them all of 5 minutes to try. If it doesn't, that's fine, but they may as well try.

I've been following this thread, trying out various people's settings, and with varying degrees of success. One thing I will say is that I agree with @Abriael - a yellow tint does make it look more natural.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Lucky me, I did not update yet to the latest NV driver as it all works well.

The advantage of the app is that when updating MSFS or the NV driver it remembers all filter settings which GF experience does/did not.
