It's a flight planning software... It was quite popular some years ago, before MSFS... It is payware... I use Little Nav Map, which is free and extremely powerful...

It is alot more than flight planning software, and I still use it on every flight.  With it, I never have to worry about charts for MSFS.

Yes, it is great piece of software... I remember having a free trial when I was on P3D, but then I discovered LNM and it did everything I needed it to do, so much so, that cancelled my Navigraph Charts subscription because LNM has a lot of the information, and now only subscribe to AIRAC cycles...

So you can auto download the flight plan you make in Simbrief, and have it show up in this software. The SB downloader has options for lots of software.

I will have to check it out. Never saw it before and I certainly never had it selected.

Maybe Simbrief had an update. So many add-ons these days, its hard to keep track.

In the end, I just wanted to make sure it  was not something I should be using for one of my planes.

AivlaSoft's EFB was not a flightplanner but a full-fledged and excellent EFB with an elegant uncluttered UI. It required no subscrition except for AIRAC updates. As a flightplanner you could use Simbrief and then load it into AivlaSoft's EFB.
Unfortunately it is no longer available but for the lucky ones who have it's fully functional in MS2020/X-Plane and AIRACS can still be updated.

I use AivlaSoft's EFB on every flight. I run it on a separate PC with dedicated monitors. I like the fact I don't have to use the SimBrief downloader app. AivlaSoft's EFB allows me to import my SimBrief data directly into the program.

Interesting. I also use it (sometimes alongside with Charts) on every flight.
How do you put Simbrief generated routes into A'soft EFB?
I (think I have to) use SB Downloader. My path is C:\Users\myname\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Client\Routes.

No but it can link through to RoutePlanner which can plan flights. Those waypoints are then fed back into EFB and P3D’s flight plan. It probably does the same for MSFS.

I use that feature for short flights in the Vertx DA62 and Carenado PC12.

I (think I have to) use SB Downloader. My path is C:\Users\myname\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Client\Routes.

You can simply select the FPL button on the left of the screen , Create Flight Plan opens, select Internet tab.

Select SimBrief and under Account-Id, enter your SB ID number. After that all you have to do is hit the Start button to import your SimBrief flight plans. Once imported, hit finish.

Still don't  understand why it's part of simbrief

Simbrief Downloader is just a conduit to download your current flight plan and automatically direct it to save in specific locations and formats for the most common addons and software.  You select the software and locations that you have installed.  Aivlasoft, an EFB and planning tool, as previously described, is simply one of those.
