It Appears BlackboxSimulations Has Gone 404

All my purchases are deactivated. Attempts to login in unsuccessful. Visiting from a google search yields one plane for MSFS with no other pages...where used to be able to activate etc.

And they do not respond to email - 4 weeks.

I noticed something was up with their website a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the Marketplace will be the only interface with their product line.

Since they maintain an online license portal, that should be a red flag for a cash grab.

Unless they have a seperate license arrangement for the one product.

🫠Haven't yet install their A340 after switch PC, seems I'll never do.

They just released the turboprop version of the BN-2 Islander for MSFS a few days ago, but I don't see any mentioning of P3D/FSX on their web page anymore. Only products for MSFS.

its Blackbox what do you expect? a leopard never changes its spots , they might have changed there name but still have the spots. they might be going back to their previous name  PSS [ Phoenix Simulation Software] days and rip people off again

I reached out to them on facebook and they confirmed that they will release their old products as freeware (just taking some time with the migration). So that is good news!🙂

I had an activation issue last weekend with their A330. I exited P3D, opened the BBS Configuration Manager, found out it was deactivated and then I reactivated it. Somehow it worked.

But yes, at one time I had a license issue for two weeks. That and their undelivered promises make me distrust them.

What's good about unfinished products?

OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons)
Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft

MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! Pure Loop II FX
GPU=KFA2 RTX3090 24 GB, RAM=64 GB DDR5-5600, HOTAS=Logitech G Saitek X52 Pro

Visit my website for fixes and addons: https://sites.google.com/view/dans-p3d-mods

I meant more that it is good news that they are at least not just removing the products completely (e.g. like PMDG). I agree on the "unfinished" part, and do feel they have acted like quite a scam in in this regard since they marketed them as "early access" and apparently it is ok then to just pull the plug (even though they promised updates), but I still fly their A340-300 from time to time and find it to be a decent "easy to pick-up and fly" kind of aircraft.

But hard (almost impossible)to flare...

Hope someone could patch that if it's out for free.

I have noticed that it does sometimes flare but that you do not notice it from the virtual cockpit..haha such a weird bug that can really screw up a landing! I do hope someone can solve when its released for free (maybe we will even see someone make some nice PBR updates to the exterior model)🙂

I think it's hardcoded in the gauges. Somehow BBS tried to replicated the RL flare mode, but went overboard with that.
