As usual I am looking for real simulation, period. In case of a bird strike it should cause visible effects on the aircraft, and possible damage if inside the engine etc. Meaning taking off like Scully at LGA could mean the same results and a forced water landing on the Hudson.

In all of the advances with flight sim and AI etc it's great but to pull off this one, and do it properly would really take a lot. Imagine you are preparing to taxi and a little bird lands on the wing and is looking around. Then as the aircraft starts to move he jumps around and flutters and flies off. Or a little bird is chirping in the tree and he notices a worm and swoops down to grab him. All of this would be next level stuff.

A “pilot simulator” … that’s a new one.  So why bother calling it a simulator?

There won't be any structural damage that's been confirmed.

Jorg said that some of the aircraft manufacturers won't allow it, and he doesn't want to have just some aircraft with visible damage and some aircraft without.

There will be stuff like tire pressure, mud, scratches on the glass etc. But no major damage.

I don’t think FAA defines structural damage as a bird strike . Engine failure is actually on separate category . Structural failure is more like if actually clip tip of your  wing or loose part of your stabilator . I believe comprehensive system  failure without visuals is how real world professionals sims work. I know for sure that you can overdress aircraft in current version of MSFS will be greeted with message “you have crashed” . If that is what you guys meant but structural damage

There won't be a physical damage model like beamng, but with the introduction of collision damage in 2024, 3rd party devs could introduced damaged component meshes to simulate damaged areas of the aircraft based on location of scrape points and the velocity of the impact.  This damage is cumulative, and could affect different control systems depending on the amount of damage sustained.  This will be welcomed change to the hard core crash window appearing when you bump into a building or tree in 2020.  Too bad MSFS won't allow these effects to be seen on their 2024 aircraft (is this true for all marketplace aircraft?), but 3rd party aircraft devs may come up with some creative ways to simulate visual aircraft damage in 2024 (even if its not perfect).

There are some good examples of visual damage in 2020, such as the CAS J-3 Cub where the wheel struts can break off if impact is beyond a certain impact threshold, and this and other aircraft have had prop damage modelled. 2024 should offer a good extension of these visuals without resorting to custom code by the devs.

Blame the (unnamed) aircraft manufacturers, they don't wish to see their aircraft damaged. It's all about the PR.
