Some claim that shader cache files are automatically deleted when updating the driver.

I just witnessed this first hand when you use the 'clean install' option in the driver install the entire folder is deleted and a new one w/ the correct set of shaders associated specifically with the driver being installed.  I used to delete the manually but there is no need it turns out.

  • I believe this is the very first time I've seen a driver update referring to the flight sim I was using at the time, and this over decades!  Cool!

  • I'm not certain it matters but I started the DXShader cache clearing by first uninstalling all NV related drivers thru Win 11 Installed Apps interface.  By doing this, since DXCache folders are associ

With this new "nvidia app" how to make the overlay (fps, gpu, cpu load...) automatically invisible on the Windows desktop but visible on MSFS ?

I have constantly this HUD counter on my Windows desktop. It didn't behave this way with the GeForce Experience.

Wasn't the entire Nvidia DLSS and Frame generation demo'd specifically on MSFS?  I thought I remembered a lot of noise about Nvidia and MSFS together...

Yes.  There have been a number of NVidia driver releases that contained fixes specifically for MSFS, it is just that people don't seem to remember them.

There was one specifically for MSFS at launch, and one for the giant  psychedelic trees in DX12. That one strangely enough came out as a fix in a studio driver first for some reason.
