November 21, 20241 yr I told Steam where I wanted the MSFS2024 install to be placed. It worked fine but I am puzzled as to why the install folder was named "Limitless". Can I change the name of that folder? If so, where in Steam do I tell it what the install folder is then named? Thanks ........ November 21, 20241 yr That's actually not my biggest quirk... They could have called it "McBeth" or whatever, but, what I really don't like is: .) There is no way to, like in FS 2020, save the core in the usual "C :" drive xBoxGames and system folders, but allow the users, during the install, to choose another partition and folder to install the Community and Official subfolders; .) If I choose to direct the xBox install into, say, F:\MSFS 2024, then it does create stuff under that folder, but also creates replicas of other system folders in F:, messin around with my nicely behaved "X-Plane 12" and "Condorsoaring3" folders 😕 .) Even WORST! It still goes and creates the ROLLINGCASH under C:\Users"YourUsername"\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator[....] Yes we can, in the "Online" Settings options move the cache file to another place, but that should be done at install time, and it's easy for the users to even not become aware of it... Together with the decision to depart from most conventional settings in terms of the control definitions, these have been my major quirks with FS 2024... November 21, 20241 yr You can change both the cache location and the community folder. Go to the market place. You will see “my library”, on the click the gear. You can select your community folder location. In your settings you can change the rolling cache location and the size of it. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

Options limitless - thus that folder name to remind us On a serious note, I also wondered why I not only have that "Microsoft Flight Simulator" folder but also that "limitless" folder, guess we still don't know... I had it installed on my F:\ drive but the Community Folder is in the C:\ drive under that long user blah, blah, blah I also now have three folders in my F:\ drive, all named Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
November 21, 20241 yr Limitless was the name of their secret project just like Kittyhawk was the name of 2020 when it was being developed. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 21, 20241 yr It's normal to drop the secret project name on release and switch to someing more recognisable (and less ironic considering the way the launch has gone)
