Rex Atmos Compatibility with MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

Hi,

Any updates from Rex regarding Rex Atmos compatibility with MSFS2024?

Anyone heard any news yet?

Thanks!

Not heard much... FWIW, V1-Simulations in his streams was commenting about how he won't be needing REX Atmos any more since the revamped atmospheric lighting engine in MSFS 2024 produces colors similar to his RES Atmos setup.

Seriously, do you need REX Atmos in MSFS 2024?

I am not sure it is needed...the color tones are so much better and more realistic and pleasing to the eyes in 2024.

Yea, I have to say that the atmosphere look very good in 2024. I have not seen it yet under all conditions but from the little bit of flying I have done I certainly would not run another add on to try to improve it.

First let me address the status of Atmos for 2020.

We are about to release Atmos - Technical Update 1.0.PB01 as a "public beta". Our target for release is tomorrow. We will include a fix list when we release it. It is only recommended for those that want to try a public beta.

In addition, we are also working on Atmos - Feature Update 1.0 for 2020. This includes several of the most popular requests we received after the initial release.

About Atmos for 2024, as you know many of 3rd party developers did not receive the "Alpha" until about mid-October. At that point we noticed there were several big changes to things. We have finalized and packaged those changes and are in the beginning stages of implementing them into our main interfaces. There are new features coming that are NOT in 2020. I expect that this will not be released until Feature Update 1.0 is released for Atmos 2020. This being that we want to include those changes in Atmos for 2024.

In my opinion...yes. The atmosphere is still too clean. More haze is required. Furthermore, rings of fog around metar stations still present in msfs2024. I mean, seriously...this is so unrealistic.

Any clues as to when we might see Atmos for 2024 yet?

They’re currently testing Release Candidate 2, and expect to need an RC3 to fix some minor bugs found during beta testing of RC2. It sounds like it’s pretty close.

The 2024 version will be a standalone product (ie paid upgrade for existing users as well) with apparently some new functionality. What that is though hasn’t been made public yet.

Thank you for bringing us a little bit of semblance of reality. FS2020 is simply fantastic with! But I'm not really confident about the outcome with fs2024 Or can we contact you to make a technical suggestion please?
