Nvidia Filters

2024 doesn't require filters anymore. Colours and lighting are far better than 2020.

I disagree. It does need filters. It's far too bright out of the box.

  • Might be worth a look for some of you https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/until-nvidia-filters-work-again-a-temporary-solution-using-reshade/672513

  • I have installed ReShade and after a few attempts I can say that I am very happy with the result. Shaders are great, and I also like the GUI which is intuitive and simple. So bye bye Nvidia filter

I am also using Nvidia Filter and it's been a hit and miss as I heavily depend on "YouTuber's recommendation".

But how does it differ with Reshades found on Flightsim.to? Does Reshade affect FPS?

Both Nvidia Filters and ReShade can have a small hit on FPS, depending on shaders used. I believe overall, ReShade has a lower hit compared to Nvidia Filters.

ReShade also isn't susceptible to settings just disappearing after a re-install or if you have to DDU, plus it's a lot more powerful and supports a LOT more shaders. That's why I prefer ReShade.

I see. I thought it's the other way around since reshade is like around 50MB big. Any recommendations which reshade is "the best"? Thank you

Afraid not. I like to tweak things on my own, based on what I want to change. Then I mix and match, tweak a bit and then clamp it down. For 2024, I'm using Lumasharpen (which I believe is the best sharpen method, as it looks a lot more natural, works really well with TAA), adding a tiny bit of blue with LiftGammaGain, to cut down on that weird yellow hue and then the tweak I linked on previous page, using Zentient's shader.

But I'm sure some good tweaks will show up, like FinalLight's 2020 ReShade was really good.

Thank you Sethos. I've never used Reshade so it's a good opportunity to try it! 👍

Since I uninstalled GFE and installed the new Nvidia App, no more filters besides "vibrance".

I suspect it's the new app the problem.

Anyone tried to uninstall it and install back GFE to see if the filter are available?

I don't have time today...

I just reinstalled it two days ago, all the filters are there, color, vibrance, details, brightness, etc

How do you uninstall the new Nvidia app?
I don't see it in Windows CP.

I don't use full screen. Works in windowed mode here.

This is the app I'm using Download NVIDIA App for Gamers and Creators | NVIDIA

I have previously always used Windowed mode in MSFS2020.

After installing the Nvidia APP.
it updated my Nvidia driver to 566.14
it optimized all my apps (that took more than 30 minutes).
it defaulted my WIN11 MSFS2020 to full screen (screenshot).

Now each time I start MSFS2020 I have to go into MSFS2020 graphics and change from Full Screen to Windowed mode.

Note: I am just learning my way around this new APP so maybe I am all screwed up.

Edit: Also, I do not use Reshade  or any other Helpers software.
