November 30, 20241 yr For the Xth-time now, FS2024 thought it would be nice to change my weather settings (Live weather) to some default preset after a restart. Did set up a flight with live weather, made a bit of a flight plan, started only to find out that TrackIR didn't respond, no blue light. Since FS2024 doesn't have a rescan devices option (or does it?), I did quit the flight and quit 2024 to restart. Upon restart, FS2024 picked up TrackIR, I selected Free Flight, loaded up my flightplan, checked it, hit the fly button only to see that globe was cloudless on loading which means FS2024 took the liberty to change my weather setting "again". November 30, 20241 yr I noticed earlier that it defaulted back to clear skies for me, I always fly with live weather - therefore thats how i left it last night. another bug? November 30, 20241 yr Same here. You basically have to check the weather and make sure your control bindings are set to the right custom selection on every flight just to be sure. Mark CYYZ

Easiest way to handle this for me is to rightclick the taskbar, open task manager and kill the TIR process. Run TIR again as admin - if that doesn't work - run mouse emulation. Takes longer foer me to type this than it takes to do in sim. That way I don't have to quit/restart flight RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
November 30, 20241 yr That happens to me in 2020 all the time. I always select Live Weather on the Free Flight page and it always reverts back to Clear the next time around. I thought this was a bug, but apparently it's a feature. So what were saying is that MSFS2024 will default to preset weather on load up and I will have to select live weather each and every time, rather than remembering the last session where live weather was used? i9-14900 3.2GHz 64 GB Ram RTX4090

On 2020, all you have to do is select Live Weather when you click the toolbar, and from then on it will always start with Live weather. Have no idea what 2024 does.
