Modifying marketplace aircraft..

Featured Replies

Since these aircraft are streamed, we do not have access to the files, however..

I made some mods to the Carenado Seminole in 2020.  I preselected the GTN and I changed the code for the three way AP switch, so that it would follow AP on/off commands when triggered by a button on my yoke.

To my great surprise, these mods work in 2024 also..

I wonder if other favorite mods can be applied as well..  Now, this only works for aircraft that you own in 2020.. but it is a start!

Maybe once downloading of aircraft is implemented a mod can be developed to drop in the Community folder for download loaded aircraft.

And the next step I learned about two years ago is purchase elsewhere as that so far eliminates the issue.

Based on what I'm seeing with community re-paints designed specifically for MSFS 2024, the "secret sauce" appears to be that the name of the aircraft is the same as the MSFS 2020 aircraft and the file structure in the cloud, at least for now, seems to be the same as on disk MSFS 2020.

So good news for the moment.

Joerg Neumann indicated in their recent developer stream on twitch they are considering to make the default aircraft accessible in the near future, as they did before with the MSFS 2020 default aircraft.
