Lost fate in MSFS2024 due to stutter festival

Featured Replies

Still a stutter SIM even worse with the last update.
That cloud gaming is not for me I guess

Switching from cockpit to outside view and back is a spike of 500mbps every time and a drop from 60FPS tot 12FPS.
How can a game like this depend on so much streaming ???
Even with 1 Gbps fiber it's not doable at all.

Much more streaming then MSFS2020 (which runs superb)

But it's great when it works...

Why do you think that the stutter when switching to outside view is a result of streaming? I don't have this stutter and it makes me think that your VRAM is full.

Sitting a 110+ hours in 2024 and has been absolutely butter smooth every step of the way. Runs even smoother than 2020 for me.

Doesn't make sense why the streaming would cause severe stutters. I've upped the sim rate significantly and watched terrain turn to mush below me because it couldn't download it quick enough. Still didn't have an impact on performance, would just load it in when the data was downloaded, just like everything else.

This is puzzling.

Here's a snapshot of my meagre ADSL internet connection, via Wifi, during a flight across the UK, switching views.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i-wMYFUwXepqAkV-hWfZqEUrcNzPGtNy/view

Subjectively, it's smooth as silk.

Of course things can be slow at times, but so far (60-odd hours), always on loading in menus, never in-flight.

All this proves of course is that my experience is different from yours, and that whatever is causing your problem is not inevitable.

I must be lucky, my performance has gone through the roof in 2024, I struggle to get over 32fps in 2020. and still had stutters on approach to the usual culprits like KJFK, EGLL, EDDF, etc etc. Now in 2024, all of those addons are now sitting at 60-68fps, and not a stutter yet.

Do you happen to use 3rd party addons?

Heavy drops in framerate like this are almost certainly not caused by streaming but by your VRAM running out. To confirm, check with the developer mode FPS display and then lower texture resolution, LOD or other things that heavily affect VRAM usage.

He have a 4090! So now 24GB is not enough?

Butter smooth for me. Even when changing views.

Probably not, once you put everthing on ultra and load up your community folder with 300 only partially compatible addons.

Wow, Something else must be causing his issue, I'm only on a AMD 6800xt

AMD Ryzen 7800x3d   64gb DDR5, Sapphire 7900 GPU MSSI Tomahawk AM5 M/Board. 1x 4tb Crucial M.2  SSD, 3x 2tb Crucial M.2 SSD's

Likely an add on issue. The RJ Avro is doing this after the update

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?
