Black square King Air MSFS2024

Featured Replies

I thought I had previously successfully gotten the Black Square King Air to load into MSFS2024.  I'm trying now with a newly downloaded copy of the aircraft, and MSFS2024 hangs at 97% on the loading screen.

I know this aircraft isn't officially compatible, but as stated prior, I thought I had gotten it to work a while ago.  Anyone have any success getting the BS King Air to load in MSFS2024?

Hello,

I might be wrong but, from what i know, this is not possible because Microsoft/Asobo encrypted all the default airplanes even the one being available with the basic version. So Black Square can not use the model anymore and their mod will not work.

I think there are a few posts complaining about the encryption of default basic aircraft in the official MSFS forum and it looks like maybe it will be changed in the near future, there is some hope.

I read in the JF forum that someone tried to copy the 2020 version of the Bonanza in the msfs2024 folder to try to use the black square version. Not sure how well that can work and if it would apply also to the king air, but well you'll certainly run into some issues at some point because msfs2020 aircraft are not always very compatible with 2024.

Best solution is probably to wait for a new Black Square version.

I have done this successfully for both the Bonanza and the King Air.. no issues thus far, except for texturing on the GNS knobs in the King Air.. best fixed by selecting the TDS GTN instead of the GNS option.

Bert, just like Scotty of Star Trek Fame you are truly a miracle worker!  In less than five minutes time you gave me back two of my favorites, BS King Air and Bonanza.  30 seconds to read your post, 30 seconds to copy three aircraft packages, four minutes to start sim and BINGO!  Miracles do happen.

Thank you Bert, or should I just call you Scotty? 😇

I have flown the piston Duke quite a lot in MSFS 2024 recently. It worked flawlessly, certainly after the latest sim update.

  • 1 month later...

It won't start Black square King Air in 2024 now. After pressing - FLY... constant loading of the flight. Probably after MS2024 updates

Hi @SMN204. I just tried to start the Black Square King Air in 2024 ... and it worked. Would like to help. Guessing that you went through the steps of copying the MSFS2020 King Air (Asobo) into your MSFS2024\Official2020 folder and then activating your MSFS2020 BS King Air in your MSFS2024\Community folder. If all that is set up properly, not sure what to do. (Are you in the SU1 Beta?)

I'm not on SU1 beta.
I'm on stable version 1.2.11.
I copied the folder “Analog King Air 350i - Black Square” from Community MSFS2020  to the folder Community MSFS2024
I copied it here...

Oh... I didn't copy the King Air (Asobo) folder into your MSFS2024\Official202020!!!  🤔
That must be the problem...
I'll try it soon

Wow this is good news, I stayed away from 2024 just because the BS, PMDG and TDS but if I can fly the BS along with the TDS then I might as well take the plunge and get 2024.
