Connectivity issues?

Featured Replies

Today and yesterday I've had these connectivity issues. All of a sudden connection is lost - then briefly after connection has been resumed. I haven't really seen it much since the first week or so after release. Anyone else got this?

I feel it might ignite the thread unnecessarily quoting this blog post by Mr. Neumann - but I'm going to do it anyway:

I've been trying with/without VPN, but honestly, I don't know if it makes much of a difference. I'm also wondering whether connectivity issues could be related to drops in performance... Not sure at this stage.

FS 2024 feels like "owning" a car which only drives if there's a connection to the server of the manufacturer.
You need to drive to work... not at the moment my dear friend, we are having some trouble getting your car connected to our server.
Maybe try again in an hour or so...
But I "paid" for this car to get me around, drive to work, get the kids, pick up mother in law (oh well, yeah, that can wait a bit) etc...
Sure... it will do all that but only if we can get it connected to our server and at the moment we're having a bit of problem with that.

So... a bit like buying a car and then realizing that one wheel is missing? Or maybe even better: hailing a ride in one of the autonomous Waymo cabs in San Fransisco - and you can't figure out how to open the door? There's probably endless metaphors for this. But to be honest, I haven't had many issues with the sim this far. It's been more like... the engine is sputtering a little bit every now and then.

So glad i didn't buy that mess what is called MSFS2024, maybe they should name it MSFS2026 and better released it at 2026 so it would probably work much better - maybe !!

For what it's worth, I've been getting the dreaded "insufficient bandwidth" messages constantly, all day today in FS2020. There is a thread bemoaning it on the on the official forums and of course, the accusation that servers and bandwidth are being diverted to FS2024.

I might be trolling a bit here (or the camel migration patterns might be realistic - or they might have simply escaped from the local zoo... dunno) - but my OP is genuine - promise!

At least in 2024 the "connection lost" message is much less intrusive.

😅Well, they do have camels in Australia, so not completely impossible. 😉

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Indeed! So I called up the Captain, "Please bring me my wine"

I feel that I've forfeited this topic. Even though my original question may have gone unanswered...

Neither 2020 or 2024 are working for me.  Just stays on the load screen with The German/Swiss update, never gets to the main menu after 21 minutes.

I have had zero connection or bandwidth problems all day (only flew in the last 3 hours, not earlier).

Stil using MSFS 2020 and no bandwith messages here, but loading times are much longer. And I am using the Map Enhancenent mod…
