January 5, 20251 yr Pre MSFS 2024 release, I had pretty stutter free performance in MSFS2020, even at places like iniBuilds EGLL with traffic. I now get stutters (particularly on approach and when flaring) at most big airports (didn't happen before). Just now, on approach to EGLL in PMDG 777, I got a couple of stutters on final and then when flaring a big stutter. After the stutter, it goes back to being completely smooth. This has all happened post release of MSFS 2024; I haven't made any other changes to the system. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to reduce them or what could be causing them? January 5, 20251 yr As with all stutters your van yet and mitigate them on your own system, but ultimately it could well be server issues that are the reason, which is always hard/impossible to prove. When you say you haven't made any changes to your system, does that include no windows security updates in the background? One of those could be the cause, again hard to diagnose. I do wonder if it is a connection / server issue. Someone recommended setting my network from private to public, but that didn't have much of an effect. I clear my cache regularly too. Exact thing happening with me in 2020 As soon as fs2024 was released. There was a small update for 2020. Then went downhill from.there. They better fix it.

I flew along a highway (practicing rotor trim management) just now with the Alouette, and very minor which I had not found shortly after MSFS2024 release until last December. They better fix it. This also coincided with a MS Windows H2 24 update that seems to have a negative impact on a lot of systems, more so W11 than W10 but I am holding off installing for that reason. Checking for updates now takes 30-45 seconds instead of 10, not a big deal but performance for me has actually been better. Any other system changes or updates even the Windows update? System has been smooth in recent weeks, and all of the sudden the sim decided to deliver massive stutters. There’s been no addons, no updates, and no tweaking. The only way to explain this is server issues. I suppose this has become the new norm (a hit or miss). Good luck.

Funny, the end of my flight last night was an absolute stutterfest. I landed and just closed the sim it was so bad. Are you suggesting our flight experience is contingent on Asobo's server performance? If that's the case, 2020-2024 simmers are in for a rough ride. After suffering of severe stuttering over the last week, the issue magically went away this morning.

Not only can poor server connection cause stuttering and poor performance but it can also disable online services and Photogrammetry altogether if it deems the connection is bad enough. Don't forget that also includes the middle mile which is the connection from you to your ISP and your ISP to the cloud. So you have local Network connection, middle mile the ISP controls "to some extent" and then the last hop to the cloud farm. It's why being able to clearly identify the location of an issue is so important.
