I wonder why your cases differ so much from others and what it is that other people don't understand. I'm one of those who don't understand and am still trying to figure this out. With ASFS set to passive mode, there should not be any sudden transitions (as MSFS clouds are used). I'm using this more and more actually. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

From my understanding, MSFS will build the whole weather area so that it's in place as you fly through so you will have minimum transitions. Active sky will repeatedly download weather ever so often and load it into the sim. This gives me the strange transitions that I DON'T like. By running in passive mode, MSFS does it's thing and AS adds the effects. Really, its like flying without AS. If you are getting transition issues with MSFS alone, I'm not sure of that issue as I don't experience that. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/

The passive mod of Active Sky is the default live weather of FS2024 with in addition the options of Active Sky, moving map and all the information about the weather etc.... Nothing else

The change is always smooth for me. I can't fly in extremely changeable weather conditions. It's just impossible for me...

Would it be possible to share your specific ASFS settings? Many people would benefit and be happy to learn how to achieve a smooth transition. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
January 7, 20251 yr I had seemed to resolve the transitions for quite a while but the last couple of builds they actually seem worse... I've actually seen it update multiple times in just a few minutes changing clouds entirely despite all my settings being set to default. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
January 7, 20251 yr You'll know the value of Active Sky when MSFS live is not available and you want "live" weather. It also can be used just to add effects to MSFS live weather. MSFS

Quote Active Air Effects Customizable clear air turbulence, thermals, drafts and wake turbulence effects work in tandem with existing MSFS effects to provide and enhance realism. Air effects are provided in any depiction mode. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
January 7, 20251 yr I just saw a sudden transition with default live weather (well, with AS in passive mode). 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

January 7, 20251 yr Same here AS (most of the times on passive mode) + Realturb + FSrealistic = Bes combo. Ultra impressed with RealTurb which i didnt expect to be honest. January 7, 20251 yr Active Sky + Realturb + FSrealistic + and for example the Fenix with its flight model .For me the mixture is not good at all !. It has the opposite effect.Put the herbal cigarette in the ashtray and go get some air. Keep it simple and your flights will be extraordinary. Active sky / Fenix / BeyondATC / FSLTL Traffic. Everyone plays their part...
January 7, 20251 yr I have never seen a sudden transition with default live, but I have seen them with active sky because active sky creates a theme. However there's a smoothing setting that really helps if you find your sweet spot. MSFS
