The worst: flying fast from an area with clear skies to overcast. Do you input your flight plan into ActiveSky? This will help smooth transitions too. I think I’ve set the smoothing rate (if that’s what it’s called) to 20, IIRC. The transitions aren’t that bad. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
January 10, 20251 yr I'm in contact with HiFi for support but, thought I'd ask here as well. Does anyone get an actual AS panel to come up in the toolbar in sim? ASFS is checked in the toolbar listing but, there isn't an actual panel (screen) that comes up specifically for AS. i7-13700KF @ 5.3GHz 32.0GB DDR5 @ 5600 RTX 3080 65" LG OLED @ 4k

I'm not sure there is one, I think the one that's there's is merely a placeholder, it's been a requested feature I know that much. If I recall correctly, this is a functional requirement for AS, but there is no UI associated. January 11, 20251 yr This is what I sent off to Dave at HIFI. I'm posting it here, just in case someone might have helpful info. Still can't get it to function properly. Next step, in my mind, is a complete reinstall of MSFs2024 and then reinstall of AS. I really don't think that's the problem because when I install addons with addon linker, everything works. Hi Dave, Did a complete delete and reinstall of AS. AS is in my community folder. AS is loaded 1st and setup as such: Historical weather is active. Date and time is September 1, 2024 at 19:49 utc. The activate button to the right is pressed and I can see the loading bar on the top of the app. The app is in the tray (running). I next load MSFS 2024 and make sure live weather is off in the online options. I load up free flight and go to my local airport which is KOSH. Snow is on the ground with clear skies. Is there supposed to be a panel for AS in the toolbar in the sim? I only see ASFS in the toolbar and it is activated. In the weather tool, it is today date, live weather is off and clear skies in the settings. I would think this would all be changed by AS upon loading the flight. Correct? Also, developer mode is off and no other addons in the community folder. Not sure what I'm missing to get it to run. Thanks i7-13700KF @ 5.3GHz 32.0GB DDR5 @ 5600 RTX 3080 65" LG OLED @ 4k
January 11, 20251 yr i have had no problem with AS historical weather. i choose historical weather option in AS and simbrief, select upload a new weather snapshot, start simbried downloader, start the sim, fly. i dont know of any other way, thats how i have always done it and it works. January 11, 20251 yr My main gripe right now is that things can be way way overdone at times. The other week with live weather and everything set to be realistic, I was at CYVR and I couldn't see the terminal from the gate with the rain and fog. The planes would have been 100% grounded it was so bad. I live about 20 miles away and there was no such conditions at the time. FS2024 was much more accurate in that instance. edit: It sure did look awesome though 🙂 Edited January 11, 20251 yr by laserit Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com

I'm just using AS. No simbrief. I would think the historical would be applied when I start freeflight at the airport of choosing. Not happening. i7-13700KF @ 5.3GHz 32.0GB DDR5 @ 5600 RTX 3080 65" LG OLED @ 4k

AS should automatically override any default weather. Just set the time in AS. I use the Alt key once or twice after setting the time to ensure that the weather starts downloading. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
