I'll ignore this post. No need to explain. I am very serious. You tell me that you have never seen a sudden change in the default weather. I have seen several! so I must have thought that you had not flown enough to notice it or that your Active Sky settings were wrong. I shared my settings a few pages back. I also do not have any sudden changes with my weather settings and Active Sky brings me weather with diversity and realism. Where exactly is your dissatisfaction in my comment? "I've never had a disagreement with you here at AVSIM or the ORBX" What does this have to do with my comment? I am a free man, I do not make childish strategies.

Do you mean another weather related app? AS was the only one I ran at the time. Other apps I would have ran at the time were FSLTL, VAS ACARS, and the navigraph app. I thought the transitions were part of AS use anyway? tinkering with the settings to reduce the speed of them was the only way to tackle the issue? To be fair I never read the reports you mentioned so who knows if something was involved for me but I doubt it. January 9, 20251 yr Does Active Sky work in the career mode as well. It seems like the weather in career mode is locked. Johan Pienaar
January 10, 20251 yr So, just don't seem to be getting this to work. MSFS 2024. AS 9115 is installed. Says MSFS connected. AS set to historical dynamic mode/August. It is January where I fly from. No change in the sim, for weather. No addons in the community folder, only ASFS. Live weather turned off in MSFS. ASFS checked in toolbar. When looking at weather tool in sim, still shows January date. Real time is checked, greyed out. Again, live weather is off. Could you please help me with getting this to work. Confirmed that all weather (and all toolbar/UI stuff including weather settings) is locked in career mode. It's all canned/forced for that specific scenario. Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

And for anyone else with anything similar, we have a few rare reports of this that look related to other add-on interference, but we have some potential solutions and a test build to try, so please open a ticket with us if you have the same issue. Make sure in ASFS under 'WX Control' you choose Passive in the 'Sim Depiction Mode' menu. It works better if you import a Simbrief flight plan but it's not necessary. In MSFS, make sure you have Live WX enabled. Passive mode is only going to add the turbulence effects (which it does well). There's dozens of other features other than just turbulence, but agreed that most seem to appreciate the turbulence effects the most. This is always improving BTW, we've been actively working on this for a while with more improvements coming. Feedback always appreciated. Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 10, 20251 yr Hmm, I used AS in both FSX and P3d, but before I spend my dosh on this for 2020 I have to ask myself, is the weather in 2020 that bad that I need to replace it? So far I have been unable to justify it to myself. I have heard many conflicting reports. Will probably get it at some point, but only after hearing nothing but great feedback. As was the case in previous sims. Hi Bob, sure, but am I right in thinking AS still can’t render cirrus or cu nims properly? Or am I expecting too much?
