Been plagued by this since 24H2 installed and tried everything imaginable including replacing an 8mo old Corsair PSU a few weeks ago, all to no avail.  I was fairly sure something in 24H2 did this and now after two demanding test flights can say with assurance it's finally over:  I restored a cloned drive done in Oct 2024 pre 24H2 and zero cutouts for two consecutive flights with a reboot inbetween.  I was loathe to celebrate with only two flights as this has been quite random, anywhere from a handful of audio-video cutouts to some so frequent I had to shut the flight down.  But not only did I have two flawless flights in a row but a CFX capture revealed excellence has been restored.   I had noticed overall performance had diminished as well as these cutouts, but no more.  This was a 70 minute capture during KDEN to KSFO in the 738:

I thought this finding was worth another thread in case others plagued by a variety of issues might also be happening secondary to 24H2.

Thanks for the info Noel, the only issue I found is my JBL Quantum 810 wireless headphones no longer appear on the sound list. Based on your performance findings I think I will revert back.

I had to go the route of creating a 23h2 image, but I did it last night and reinstalled windows using the image. So far it seems to have cured it for me. I have only done two short flights but I am optimistic.

JJ, in your sig you mention "+200MHz".  I have Curve Optimizer set also at -30 but where does one change the max clock speed, or +200Mhz?

If you lower the curve, the CPU will boost at higher frequency when all of its cores are used. For the 7800x3D however, 5050 MHz is a wall even for 1-2 thread processes.

It will only be faster when used at 100% (like 4600 MHz instead of 4400 or something like that).

The 9800X3D is able to be overclocked but the 7800 is not. Below is a post from Reddit, it is literally this easy on the 9800X3D. This can be done either through the BIOS or through Ryzen Master. I continue to test both with the overclock and without.

I believe that the clean install fixed it. I did a clean install of 24H2 and got rid of the audio cutouts as well.

If you want to take the chance, install 24H2 from Windows Update to test it. In this way you will have 10 days to revert back to 23H2 if the problem reappears.

I did this too, and shared this with Noel already ...but unfortunately in his case this didn't work. 

The second time I went from 23h2 to 24h2 was not updating it but indeed a download via Windows own media creationtool and clean install while saving files and apps.

The first normal update route via Windows updated did exactly cause this issue you and Noel mentioned.

Is this thread only relevant for MSFS2020? I get audio cutouts every time there's a frame time spike in 2020. It's gotten so frustrating that I'm currently flying with sound off 😕 I don't think I have the patience for a Win11 reinstall.

That's the only way to get rid of it apparently...

Have you already set up your CPU to utilize only the 3D V-cache cores?

MSFS2020 (v1.38.2) on two PC’s.
Win11 24H2 on both PC’s since 12/13/2024
No problems to report.

Probably worth posting a link with instructions here before someone breaks their pc trying to do this. Asking for a few thousand friends 😉

Everything should work with default BIOS settings. Just make sure Windows, Xbox game bar and AMD chipset drivers are updated.
