Did you try to install with NVCleanstall https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/ ? I always use this to do the fresh install of a driver and since then, I don't have DGXI errors. Select on the second page "Install recommended", then after download, select disable Telemetry & Advertising, Unattended Express Installation, Allow Reboot, and most important Perform a Clean Installation. Next time you can choose previous settings. That's it. I also use it to check for new drivers, then abort if it's still the same. June 11, 2025Jun 11 Whelp these crashes have started again. Only happens when I’m surfing on the web or have another program in focus instead of p3d. Orman

I've tried testing different planes, scenarios, sceneries, addon programs open/closed, etc and cannot figure out what's causing it. Maybe rolling back to a driver from some time ago that worked would be the answer? Orman
June 11, 2025Jun 11 Moderator @okupton, slightly different error but have you tried tips in my first two posts here? https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/609730-dxgi_error_device_hung-solution/ Ray (Cheshire, England). I have mentioned this before and I have that same problem. On some systems P3D does not like it if you run other programs or "surf". Don't do it and all should be fine. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. Win 10 Home. 500g Samsung 960 as Windows home. 1 Gb Mushkin SSD for P3D. GTX 1080 8gb.
June 12, 2025Jun 12 Not being able to use other programs like active sky or volanta during flight is an unacceptable solution to my problem honestly. Orman

I don't mean those "flying programs", I mean looking at short video clips and that sort of thing. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. June 12, 2025Jun 12 Yea I don’t totally disagree with you on that, but I should be able to bring active sky or another program up without getting the DXGI error after 5 seconds. I have an iPad so I can do a lot of stuff like finding weather and charts without having to minimize P3d, so I can still fly. I just have to be careful with it and P3d was never this “delicate” to me. Orman
June 12, 2025Jun 12 While your in the sim run task manager this will show if something else is running in the background, and check the list for what`s hogging the CPU performance. In task manager click on performance then the bottom box GPU performance this will tell you what`s happening in the graff. Raymond Fry.
June 17, 2025Jun 17 So after some more testing, I don't have these crashes if I have p3d in windowed mode instead of full screen. Therefore, my workaround for now is to put p3d into windowed mode if i need to check active sky or other programs while in flight. Thanks everyone for your previous suggestions. Orman
