I agree the EFB is annoying (but apparently accurate to a Boeing EFB).  I’ve not had speed management issues as described here.

I think lucky 38 may have found the problem, will try it tonight

There’s nothing wrong with the ifly7, I’ve been flying it for 2 months without any issues… very very stable aircraft, I don’t understand why your having problems… funny how one plane works for one per

  • Nothing wrong with the plane, you just need to learn how to use it.

  • Ok. You should stick to PMDG then. No big deal if you can’t learn something new, lots of people have trouble with that.

Yup. The plane is amazing and has no major issues. Watch a few videos and read the manual.  Don’t assume things are broken in the plane - they really aren’t.

pedants: yes there may be minor issues,  but nothing of the scale described here. Everything major works great if you take the time to learn it and read the manual.

Yea, I am excited for when this comes over to 2024. I am pretty worn out of the old PMDG NG and will not pay an upgrade fee to keep flying it.

I think it may help to read the tutorial flight manual as it includes a lot of the setup work for first time fliers, hopefully will resolve a number of issues you’re having

Do you take Bob for the kind of simmer who reads a manual before using a new add on? 😉

I think we’re seeing signs of progress, though. At least this time he’s actually bought and used it a bit before not understanding and dismissing it as broken.

Who would of thought this would happen. When he said he bought it, I already knew what was coming. Not his fault but planes fault. Funny how everyone else finds no problems. Might help if you actually took the time to configure options etc.

Did you configure the AT lock to partial, always or none in the EFB?

ifly has configurable way with how AT interacts with your physical throttle as described in the manuals

That was the problem. Took me forever to find it in the EFB, but now the AT is working fine.

Be sure you turn on the lockout for your yoke as well.  Early on, there were folks who saw lateral and vertical excursions for the same reason; transient control inputs overriding the automation.  These lockouts were added in the last update and solve the vast majority of problems.  The only issue now is that they aren't turned on by default; I believe that may be changed in an upcoming update to head off these kinds of problems.

Yeah, I was thinking that was a real train wreck setting to miss. I still haven't figured out the menu structure in the EFB yet.  I do alot of hunting and pecking looking for things.

spacer.pngI just lost the Nav Map function on the left PFD. I have the ILS display on both the left and right , I can't see anyway to get it back.

The ILS glide slope was like a roller coaster, above, then below then above the GS.  Not what I am used to.

Yes. and is that the only  thing you can say?

Well yes.. all your questions are simply you not knowing how to use the plane, and it’s all explained in the manual, or in many excellent videos on YouTube.

I know you know the PMDG planes very well, but this is not PMDG - and so you have to learn iFlys way of doing things. In addition, this is a Max, which isn’t the same as the other 737s you may be used to.

So don’t approach this thinking you know everything about this plane, and therefore any issues are a bug with the plane - spend some time learning this like a brand new plane.

Here is a good playlist that will teach you https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtFw-RsDhI86lYPRHEvIVpAc_3Z6NvSej

The plane is amazing (as stated by many, many real world Max pilots) so it will richly reward you if you spend some time learning it.

Alternatively you can keep proving that you are not willing to put in the effort to actually learn a complex new add on, and just keep complaining about how the plane is broken. That’s your choice.
