March 15, 20251 yr Due to people doing stupid things with drones, the FAA now requires all drones and RC aircraft weighing more than 250 grams (0.55 lbs) to be registered. RC aircraft over 55 lbs requires a more extensive registration process and the issuance of an "N" number.
