2024 FPS Progress! Stutters....Well

Featured Replies

Yes, It reduces the texture size in half. I fly airliners so I dont spend too much time low level to notice a difference.

Yes heard that many out there with popping sounds and other audio issues seem to stem from Win 11 24H2

There is truth about audio issues with 24H2 as I had it with my BT JBL headphones (fixed with latest windows update) however, the popping issues with 2024 it's a hit and miss between setups, I'm one of the lucky ones (I guess) as I have no sound popping issues in 20204.

Where do the stutters come from?  Never had them on 2020 or 2024 on my modest 5900x / 3060ti system.

What do I need to installl to get them? - just curious.

I'm also on 24H2 and can't revert to 23 since it's past the 10 day window.

I just lucked out there I had made a disk clone a couple months back that thankfully saved my bacon on this.  Then I researched how to avoid having it stuffed in again by Windows Update so hopefully am good to stay.  I was getting this in 2020 so if you aren't that's great.  Maybe it's a different issue w/ 2024 I don't know but it is really rare to hear any kind of audio/video cutout in 2024 so far.

I thought the sound clipping/stutter was just me. What fixes do we have so far?

My headphones haven't changed. Its only intermittent but seemingly on higher volume areas.... Hmmmm....

I'm on 24H2 and have had no sound clipping.

I am on SU2 beta and the overall experience is quite good, but what ruins everything are the stutters on the runway when landing (and also a little bit at takeoff), in many custom airports. In the same situation 2020 is butter smooth... Also the fps are better... Even if in 2024 hey are quite good, if I switch to 2020 after flying with 2024, I am surprised by the sensation of smoothess...

I can relate to that.  While frame rate tends to be higher in similar settings in 2024 I get these 'shudders' or short clusters of stutters during taxi often that is very rare in 2020 which feels like scenery loading related.   And from your story this isn't improving in SU2 that's really too bad.

Has anyone tried backing down to a different FG version?  I've personally found the latest 3.10.2.1 I think it is to be quite poor and introduced stutters and ghosting.  3.7.1 I think it is maybe 3.7.2 seem to produce the best results in terms of fluidity and IQ.

Probably the scenery being streamed down the pipe because we aren't allowed to own any of our stuff any more.  I get exactly the same.  I'll have a totally smooth flight, but a stutter or two on the ground every time, with a LOD of only 60!

It's also the combination of the driver and FG settings 3.10.2.1 and happy no ghosting or blurs... Also your local settings play a role. I think there isn't an one for all setting unfortunately.
Happy I found my sweet spot, but it can be frustrating to find it...
