Azure Poli Jaguar ín MSFS2024 is phenomenal

Featured Replies

I unfortunately was not able to get my screen shots pasted into this topic.

However, I have flown the Azure Poli Jaguar with EGUL and EGUN sceneries installed in MSFS2024, and made quite  a few flights with this beautiful bird. It looks absolutely gorgeous from inside the cockpit and from outside, flies very smooth and stable and has many very attractive features installed. Flying the Jaguar feels very immersive and performing approaches and landings as well as low level high speed flights are spectacular.

I have seen no reviews about the Jaguar so far, so I thought posting my experience can be interesting to jet simpilots. This plane is my absolute favorite go to plane in MSFS2024.

Thanks for the review.  I also like cool military jets hehe...I've been considering it.

If you do not flare the Jaguar correctly and the touch down vertical speed is too hard you will get a gear damage warning and you have to restart the flight as you, despite full throttle, will not gain sufficient speed anymore for take off. Which makes you focussing on a proper approach!!!

In addition if you add drag (gears down, flaps, g) make sure to add throttle as speed will drain off quite quickly. For a descent approach it is useful to use the airbrakes with an axis so that you can dose the airbrakes to control approach speed precisely.

In addition the afterburners need to be activated during T.O. at full military power by using a right mouse click on the levers or by making a binding to do that.

Have fun.

I once saw a Wings episode (Wings on the Discovery Channel -- 90's TV show) with these Jags taking off from grass fields and highways.  It was awesome.   Big stalky landing gear bouncing up and down.  Unique plane.

Supposedly the dev is considering a proper British GR1 cockpit version.  For now I'm told it's really a Jaguar A (French) cockpit even though there are some liveries which are the British GR1.

I plan to buy this Jag and I want to support such an effort (to give it an additional cockpit variant)

OKay, so now we have dropping bombs and missiles in Flight Sim.

Maybe Msobo will think to create some missions to blow stuff up.

The sad demise of FS goes on.

Friend, your dour and negative perspective does not add the gravitas nor expertise to the topic that I believe you are trying to impart. In fact  believe it does just the opposite.  All respect,

Friend,

You are not a simmer. You are a Flight Gamer.

If that's Okay with You then fine.

That is a Game.

I've heard that aircraft played a few parts in military roles over the last hundred or so years...?

And I never heard anyone complain about the same exact situation in Prepar3D, despite the significant number of functionally armed add-ons.

Seems like Asobo is busy with a bunch of other things, so maybe not a bad thing for third party devs to fill this niche for those who are interested...?

I personally don't care about functional weps in MSFS, especially in the current state. All I want is for add-ons to be able to carry them in a realistic fashion, with drag, weight and inertia.

What is your definition of "simmer" (other than you know one when you see one)...?

Its almost like you believe operating military aircraft isn't something that "real pilots" do...?

Real pilots have been doing that in DCS. Never Flight Sim.... Until now.

No, "real military pilots" do their serious simulating in Prepar3D - at work, among a few other sim environments.

Further, DCSW hasnt had High Fidelity aircraft add-ons for much longer than MSFS v2020 has been around. Unless you're an A-10 pilot, but there aren't many of those.

And aside from the add-ons, DCSW as  a general purpose flight simulator is well behind even Prepar3D. Probably even FSX, since at least FSX had real Time weather and a global map.

And the military folks who do fly DCSW treat it just like a game. Because that's exactly what all these desktop "simulators" are in 99% of the typical use.

The point being that your precious MSFS isn't being harmed or neglected, diverted or held back because a couple of 3rd Party Developers decided to, y'know, listen to their customers...

Is Prepar3D not a Flight Simulator, used for military and civilian training? What is a flight simulator for you?

It seems like an extremely well executed addon. As for reviews, you can check out CGAviator on YouTube. He is a former IRL RAF fast jet pilot, and he generally covers the better military add-ons that release for MSFS.

He's got a high opinion of this Jaguar, and I'll take his well-informed opinion over that of some others around here.

Me...? Well, Just Flight has done such a stupendous job on their recent Hawk v2 that I can't really bring myself to fly much else in MSFS these days. 😎

There's nothing serious about 'serious flight simmers', no matter what sim you use.
I think if you take a step outside into the wider world you'll find the line between 'gamers', 'hobbyists' and 'flight simmers' is blurred to no discernible difference and has been that way since flight sims first appeared as a genre of PC games.
