May 19, 20251 yr Yesterday the Beta (Steam 1.5.1) was working very well with the exception of the really big FPS drop crossing the threshold on landing. I was able to fly from several major add on airports with few problems. Even the FPS drop at landing only lasted a few seconds. Today with an empty Community file at small GA airports I see 60 FPS in the cockpit not moving. As soon as the plane moves an inch, or I ShiftC out to walk around, the FPS drops to 20 then 15 and then single digit. If I stop moving for a few seconds the FPS jumps back to 60. I can see the GPU at 60% Busy and full commitment of VRAM sitting in the cockpit at 60 FPS BEFORE I do anything except Ready to Fly. So, it appears that any additional calls to the GPU as the plane moves causes the dreaded VRAM issue. Yesterday sitting in the same cockpit with the same settings showed only 8.5 to 9 GB out of the 12 GB committed. I tried lowering all my settings and even lowering DLSS from Balanced to PErformance but nothing helps. Trying to taxi at 2 or 3 FPS is impossible. With DLSS at Performance, LODs at 100, graphics at medium - I see 5 FPS taxing at KORS, a generic small GA airport. The situation was acceptable, well not really, when it was just at landing but now I cannot get out of my parking slot without hitting something. Once above 1000' AGL the sim stays at a rock solid 60FPS. May 20, 20251 yr Author Hi, did that procedure just before I uploaded the beta. Are you suggesting I do that again? May 20, 20251 yr Very frustrating! I saw this FPS drop under 1000ft with SU2, but just completely smooth with SU3. May 20, 20251 yr I feel for all of you who are experiencing bad performance and other issues with SU3 😕 As I posted twice, mine's smooth as silk, I never deleted any caches, shaders or the FS2024 streaming cache, I never emptied the Community folder which resides in a different location from the standard, just as the CACHE file and the Packages, all under F:\MSFS in my case and the path manually changed by editing UserCfg.opt. None of the conf files were changed in what regards to the changes I had done before SU3 was pushed, and that's content.xml and UserCfg.opt. My system is made up of a Ryzen 5600 x, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB VRAM, and two nvme, 500G and 1T disks. Smooth as silk, sharp @ 30 FPS, set by limiting in UserCfg.opt. Only thing I didn't yet try was bringing components from the cloud to my local storage. May 20, 20251 yr SU3 is by far the best update of Asobo so far as they solved some of the major issues ( at least that i had ) - new in game fps limiter : I just use 40 or 50 fps as a limiter and have stable 80 or 100fps with frame generation. The smoothest experience so far that i ever had on flight simulation + i could click on my 2nd monitor on other applications with out making my GPU boiling at 99% usage. Usage and temps are 50-70% and 50-60C max. -UI menu and control settings : Everything is ultra faster and smooth i didnt have a single stutter so far during ground procedure , taxi, take off , cruise and landing with Fenix , A350 and B787-9 at Ultra settings + BATC + Active Sky Intel Core i9-13900K | ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING OC 24GB | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | DDR5 64GB 6000-30 Trident Z5 RGB | Corsair ICUE H170i Elite Capellix RGB | Corsair 7000D Airflow ASUS ROG Thor Platinum II 1200 Watt | Samsung SSD 990 Pro NVMe M.2 2TB & 1TB | Alienware AW3423DW | Asus ROG Swift PG279Q 27" Gaming Monitor | VKB-Sim Gladiator Mk.II | Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition

Performance too is a bit heavy. SU 2 is far more stable and smooth. Any ideas what I should do? Maybe reinstall? I have posted in their bug report section, very scarce response. I think this is a very rare case @History, unfortunately these days my knowledge about the specificities and tuning of the sims I use is far from what it used to be in the times of FSX, P3D, ... so I simply do the default configurations, accept that my rig isn't up to the levels in terms of both CPU and GPU and so and since I'm perfectly fine with it, I set max FPS to 30, either through Nvidia, RTSS or now the new setting that can be used in UserCfg.opt. At 30 FPS, using TAA for AA, LOD and TLOD at 100, Clouds at HIGH and the rest pretty much set to MEDIUM or LOW, the performance and smoothness I get is great. I will try to get a resume of my settings and installation details later today and will send it to you through PM !
