July 23, 2025Jul 23 The title says it all. Outside the sim the keyboard works fine. I noticed the sim didn't recognize the esc key. Anyone have this problem? Don't know what I could of done. I've notice other strange issues after the last update. I'm not in the bata program Thanks Bill McCracken

I'm not in the bata program Thanks Bill McCracken Interestingly, I had this happen to me today as well in MS2024, SU2. At first I thought my keyboard had died, but it worked with other apps. I eventually restarted the sim, or maybe the computer (don't recall for sure), and the problem went away, and so far has stayed away. I have no idea what caused this bizarre problem. July 24, 2025Jul 24 Author Is it the full keyboard now or just the ESC key? If the latter, did you check your keyboard / button assignments? It is the full keyboard. Looking at most of the keyboard assignments are blank. Interestingly, I had this happen to me today as well in MS2024, SU2. At first I thought my keyboard had died, but it worked with other apps. I eventually restarted the sim, or maybe the computer (don't recall for sure), and the problem went away, and so far has stayed away. I have no idea what caused this bizarre problem. I have restarted both the sim and the computer more than once. Over the past several days. I hope I don't have to reinstall the sim to get the keyboard back. Thank you. Any additional ideas is appreciated. Bill McCracken
July 24, 2025Jul 24 Author To all who took the time to reply. The saying sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Seems to apply here. My fix was to change the keyboard profile to the FS2024 in controls and all works as before. How it changed and what it was change to I have no idea. Again, thanks to all. Bill McCracken
July 25, 2025Jul 25 Happened to me 2 hs ago, was driving me nuts. Rebooted PC and it worked again, never had this happen before. SN737
July 25, 2025Jul 25 also happened to me in su2, it had completely emptied my custom keyboard profile yesterday. MSI Z790i Edge | i7-14700K | EK 360AIO | 32GB DDR5 6400mhz | nVidia RTX5080 | Acer Predator 34"
July 25, 2025Jul 25 I've had this bug a handful of times. Keyboard is just... not there in the sim. I have to ctrl-alt-delete and kill the sim (since esc doesn't work). A reboot and it goes away. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 15, 2025Oct 15 I am having this problem; I have to the go camera and select instruments to get positions that need. I have uninstalled MSFS twice too if that would work with no luck., the key bindings are there. Looking for any toget to flying.
October 15, 2025Oct 15 I’ve seen this in MSFS2024. If I unplug and then plug back the USB for the Keyboard, it starts working again….worth a try next time it happens to you. Not sure why it happens… Edited October 15, 2025Oct 15 by P_7878

Not sure why it happens… Do you have a lot of USB devices plugged in? Sometimes the bus drops low on voltage if there are a lot of devices, causing random disconnects. the usual solution is a powered USB hub for peripherals, that way your motherboard doesn’t need to supply the power. If it’s not an issue of too many devices, then likely a bug or oddity? No idea. Edited October 15, 2025Oct 15 by JonathanC 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

If it’s not an issue of too many devices, then likely a bug or oddity? No idea. Thanks. I’m on Xbox. The Xbox console has 3 USB ports, one in the front that I use for Thrustmaster, and then two in the back, which I use for Mouse and Keyboard. That’s all. The issue is rare and random, and not reproducible, so, I’m not sure what’s causing it. I don’t recall seeing this in MSFS2020, but only in MSFS2024…Oh well…not a big concern… Cheers…!

Ah Xbox works differently so no idea here. Probably just a bug related to aggressive power management or something. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
