Just Flight - Fly the Line - Short Haul Edition

It's a shame they use/require xpuipc for monitoring conditions in XP. I tend to have issues where xpuipc conflicts with & sometimes causes issues & ctd and have removed it some months back.  No problems since, so I guess "Fly the Line - Short Haul Edition" will be a no go for me. Ymmv.

Edited to add:  I don't think XPUIPC is really compatible with XP12. Their latest version - 2.0.3.8 only appears to be compatible with XP9-11.  I also don't think they (schiratti.com) are still developing XPUIPC, as far as I can tell.  So this is a real head scratcher for me, why a new product requiring an old app/plugin whose compatibility with XP12 is questionable?

Fly the Line - Short Haul Edition looks very interesting.  Pity, for me, though.

As a beta tester for FTL, I am not sure how many of us were using XP for testing. However, the developer is very accomodating, so you may want to contact him through Just Flight .

From a quick google search it looks like XPUIPC is fully xp12 complaint and still in development:-

@Litjan will be a huge fan of this, because he can finally simulate work after work! 😆

As for the product itself: Not for me. Flight prep is a chore and time intensive as-is and adding a management layer and some career ladder grind to it does not help in any way.

I have just finished watching a third 'cold and dark' video. So far I have managed to turn on the battery and APU.  If preparing the HotStart Challenger 650 could be considered a 'chore', I think I may do the dishes next and see what I've been missing.  😊

Too big a step I think, but I'm enjoying it 😁

I find it odd that JustFlight does not reference this newer version of XPUIPC for XP12.  Thanks for the links. It's great to see that someone has taken xpuipc and are striving to keep it compatible with XP12.  This could be a game changer because Pilot2ATC also requires XPUIPC and now, perhaps I can finally check it out.

Gone from free to pay. When you only need it for one thing, it seems not such a good thing. Use an old ver for one map i use. Works fine for that.

I wish it was more tuned towards GA like AH2 was.🫡 It does look like they put a lot of work into it though..

Flicking the cockpit switches is not an issue (if you have a good checklist and panel layout) and something that goes into muscle memory after two or three flights. What's the chore is setting up X-Plane and hardware for the flight, building a flight plan, calculating fuel requirements, hacking the FP into the FMC, etc. If you have a flight plan with a pure flight time of an hour, you're spending almost as much time (if not more) until your "ready for departure" call at the hold short.

Now add a career management plugin into the mix and you'd defintely be spending moire time on the ground than flying.

For me, enjoying flight simulation includes the very things some might consider a chore. Flight planning, especially with the excellent tools available, is actually one of the most enjoyable parts of the experience. If SimBrief is used as the planning tool, the route and fuel requirements are calculated for you. Many FMCs even support direct import from SimBrief, making the planning and FMC setup process straightforward.

And let’s not forget one essential aspect of flight simulation: the fun of installing add-ons and tweaking everything to get it just right!😁

What I find most interesting is that this program works with ALL major sims, including FSX!

Is anyone able to connect FLT to Xplane 12 with XPUIPC? I'm out of luck so far!
