Totally fair point — and you're right, some companies make it far too difficult to unsubscribe, which understandably puts people off.

• Are the updates performed exclusively with your control panel or can I download an AIRAC cycle separately from your homepage (I use Linux, so I do not know if your control panel will work)?

Ok lets just trust everybody then. I own a business, and certain countries you do not trade with. It is as simple as that. Even the bank says so...

I don't own a company and understand nothing about business negotiations, so you might all be right to be "suspicious" of this Turkish company

They may be Turkish, but if they work for aviation companies around the world, it means they're reputable. 

Even when I bought the iFly 737 for FS9, I gave my money to a Chinese company.
This totally unknown Chinese company (who was iFly?!? It appeared out of nowhere!) took my money and delivered the product to me.
I had no problems with them.
(And note... iFly cost me well over $30!)

After all, we're only talking about $30; we're not talking about going into business with a Turkish company and investing thousands of dollars in capital. 
In the worst-case scenario, if the company turns out to be "unreliable" you'll lose $30.
That doesn't sound like a disaster your bank should be worried about. 

Oh,... before anyone asks, "So why don't you buy it?" ... I'll immediately reply that I'm not buying it, NOT because that product is expensive or because it's Turkish, but because I don't need to update the Airacs!
When I compile my flight plans I use the old Airacs I already have, I don't care about having them updated to the latest version (I never do online flights where there is a requirement to have updated databases).

Sir, "That part of the world" is one thing.
A company is another.

In Italy (which is "another part of the world"), we have the Sicilian Mafia and the Neapolitan Camorra, two terrible entities, world-famous for their shady dealings and criminal gangs that corrupt populations and businesses throughout Italy (especially in the south).
What does this imply?
That you should NEVER do business with all Italian companies because they could be run by shady characters, mafia scammers, criminals? 😳

I don't know, maybe I'm taking the issue too lightly.
But I keep telling myself that we're only talking about spending $30. 🤷‍♂️
- No one will have to invest large amounts of capital with that company.
- No one will have to move to "That part of the world."
- No one will have to fight with the bank to buy a little Airac package for a simulation game.
- No one will have to get a passport and a special visa issued by their government to buy that item.
- No one will receive a midnight visit from some Turkish secret agent looking to kidnap you.

So what are we talking about in the end? And why all this worry? 😄

Because putting ones credit card details all over the world is leading to all types of theft. But than of course if you think thats OK fine, But I hate giving people free access to my bank account. Actually had a security officer from my bank tell me hes had his details stolen far more than me, but than i try to be careful. But than of course, we all think we are infallible till it happens to us. 

Aerosoft had a nice system. Purchase a 4 download option that you must use in 12 month. One off payment. Done. Thats all i needed.

So now that I know I gave my credit card information to the Chinese (iFly B737), I shouldn't be able to sleep at night. 😬

The only scammers who stole my prepaid card information twice were my fellow Italians!

Many major credit card issuers allow you to use virtual credit card numbers linked to your real card. When you want to make a purchase from untrusted sites, you generate a 1 use credit card number with a customer name of your choice. Once you use it, the number becomes invalid and cannot be charged again. By doing this you keep your real credit card number private and secure.

I also despise subscription and would likely not subscribe to anything other than navigraph for flight simming.
