The AvAngel video shows how to remove them. interestingly, the side mirrors remain in place, tho! (A bug I’m sure will get fixed by @Miltechsimulations 🤙) but yeah, you can go commando right now 😎

SAS and autopilot do funny stuff..Not sure what to make of it Though I have only a grand total of 45 mins of un-learned free flight so far, it’s starting to make sense I’ve read the docs around the AFCS & Trim, and the bird is meant to fly with “full” autopilot enabled from the start. This is very much like the Airbus birds, the AW109 in XP, and very much like the Ka-50 and AH-64 in DCS While I figure out how to fly this per design intent (because it’s still different), and if I feel like free flight, I just disable the Trim button. Then it handles much like a heavily SAS’d helo. in all honesty, I might always fly it like that as what’s good for IRL safety often isn’t any fun in sim 🤙

I can figure out how to load flight plan so it can display it in HSI . Also as far as I understand autopilot can operate in heading mode, but I can't figure out how 😞 Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). The MH60 IRL does not have heading modes. No heading select, no LNAV. Heading changes are commanded manually. However, upon engaging the AFCS system, the aircraft will keep the lastest heading recorded prior to engage. To change heading, a coordinated turn WITH pedal will change the heading. 4 hours ago, sd_flyer said: feel like it's in early development stages. Its been a very hectic release day, with our capacity overloaded. Hence the slight delay. 4 hours ago, sd_flyer said: SAS and autopilot do funny stuff Also, as long as the manual is followed, these work correctly. SAS is never supposed to be off - the off position is "semi-simulated". Keep in mind that SAS off on this aircraft is considered an emergency. Autopilot works correctly as long as the corresponding deadzones are configured. 2 hours ago, UrgentSiesta said: I just disable the Trim button. I've worked tons of helicopters as an ATC that have shot practice approaches, even some military ones. Good to know thanks guys! You could technically program in the lat/longs for the approach waypoints and do a GPS approach flying everything manually without autopilot. And alot of military aircraft I believe do just that. It's just not available to load into the systems in alot of cases. The F-18 has no ILS for example (US Navy ones) even though they do have a carrier ILS at the aircraft carrier. It only works there at the boat and doesn't pick up civilian ILS. The F-18E/F Super Hornet versions just picked up within the last few years the ability to load RNAV approaches for airfields. The F-18 C/D did not have this but I do think that some of the remaining Marine C++ models have actually gotten that in their avionics now too.

I have heard .mil pilots report the same - they’d drop the touchdown zones in as ad hoc waypoints. and TACAN approaches are still a thing 😎 Edited August 2, 2025Aug 2 by UrgentSiesta
August 4, 2025Aug 4 (this is the review I was waiting for!) IRL US Army Blackhawk pilot / Instructor Pilot His primary gripe with it is that the IRL Blackhawk is far more nimble than this one. BUT in terms of general handling/flight model, etc. things are looking good so far. Nit picks which he describes as fairly minor center around auto-rotation and some system/engine indications mainly during start up. Basically, he gives it a Thumbs Up, and looks forward to continuing to fly it. Edited August 4, 2025Aug 4 by UrgentSiesta
