Why is FlyTampa Las Vegas "not great from ground level"? I would have thought that it would look pretty good if it has 3D handcrafted models and high resolution textures for all of those famous buildings and landmarks on the strip?

Which "in game" las vegas are you talking about? Asobo or Fly Tampa?

Not sure where that narrative comes from.

Its one of the most detailed scenery addons created for MSFS all the way down to light animations,telephone poles, monorails and fountain works.

You can literally drive the entire Vegas strip with a ground vehicle and be fully immersed in sightseeing.

That statement was part of Flyboy49's opening post in this thread. I can see that he was incorrect.

If you are using FS2024 and are using the Maxest fix for the Sphere in Las Vegas, and you are having difficulties…then you might try this: rename the file to “aaaa-vegas-fix_Maxest” and put this one in your community folder.

Maxest gives you a file name “zz-vegas-fix_Maxest” and asks you to place it in the Community folder. Note that for FS2020 the priority of files is by alphabetical order. In FS2024, priority may be in reverse alphabetical order. The Maxest fix effectively cuts a hole in the Fly Tampa Sphere to allow the Asobo Sphere to shine through. So the Maxest fix needs to have the highest priority. In FS2020 that was naturally the case – set by the file name. If the original file name works for you, then great. If not you should rename the “zz-vegas-fix_Maxest” file to “aaaa-vegas-fix_Maxest” and give it a try.

I do not know for sure if this works for everyone. Just a suggestion.
 

So this sphere fix wont work for me.

I disabled the asobo las vegas strip and added the fix and theres NO sphere.

I renabled the asobo las vegas with the fix and theres NO sphere.

The only time the sphere is there is if the fix isnt in the community folder.

Again using 2020 and the fix folder is by itself in the community folder, not sure whats going on.

Also with the fix from flytampa forum, the sphere wont even light up at night just partly during the day.

so to confirm the below city update and las vegas strip need to be activated or not activated

If using FT then I have City Update Activated and Las Vegas Strip de-activated with no issues.  No idea if that is correct but it's how I fly in/out frequently and it looks pretty darn good. YMMV

This is correct

I was under the impression that FT on a previous Vegas update had corrected an issue that required users to not have to remove anything from the content manager.

So I am at wits end with this "sphere trick".

The fix does nothing for me, I have FT vegas installed and I have removed the asobo strip leaving city update and with the fix installed there is NO sphere.

The only time the sphere appears is when I dont have this fix installed.

I give up, im just gonna go back to how it was without this fix because its clearly trash and doesnt work.
