XPD-17269 Check your X-Plane.prf and look for _snd_use_ip_51 = 1 If it's that bug, setting it to 0 probably brings CPU times back to normal, Worked for me. OK so I still had the high CPU times and tried this .prf file change, thank you. My CPU times dropped like a rock! But get this - it wasn't nearly as smooth as before when using frame scaling - the glassy smoothness was more smooth-ish with some very tiny stuttering. So, I changed the value of _snd_use_ip_51 back to =1 and CPU times once again rocketed BUT my frames were glassy smooth? I'm going to leave it like this and am hoping when the bug is fixed I don't lose the smoothness 🙂

September 6, 2025Sep 6 Sorry but what do you guys meant CPU Times? How can I check that? Sorry not at computer but one of the data output options (those little blue numbers you can display in the upper left corner of the screen) includes an output for CPU time and GPU time and FPS - basically how long each device is taking to calculate each frame, and it tells you if you’re CPU or GPU limited on your total frame time. Now I’m eager to get back to my PC and see if fixing that bug (bring CPU times way back down) THEN cranking up CPU intensive buildings etc to get the CPU back up might result in the same smoothness I’m seeing now? Perhaps my rig at least frame scales more smoothly when CPU limited vs GPU limited and that’s what actually making it smooth for me with high CPU times, not the bug itself. Here’s how to enable frame times - To display your frames per second (FPS) in X-Plane 12, move your mouse to the top of the screen to open the menu, click Settings > Data Input & Output, and then check the box for "Frame rate" or "Frame rate item 0". This will show the current FPS in the top-left corner of your screen.
September 6, 2025Sep 6 Ah ! Ok then that's that. I should have known 😁 because I use it since ever... Ok i'll check it because I just reinstalled xp12 to check 12.3 and haven't yet enabled those statistics. Thanks👍 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Love FS2024 too because it is growing and getting very good too. They're different but they're both great. Xp12 was a bit of a mess, installed into an older SSD, so I just made a fresh install in an nvme2 1 TB Trying this new beta... Looks cool. I believe the rolling bug will only be addressed by 12.4 or the like (?). Other than that it performs ok in my rig. BTW: I get less stutters when I use "--lock_fr=30" in the X-Plane 12.exe shortcut properties than when using RTSS... My only problem is that when using Map Enhancement Pro I can't find a way for it to automatically call Xp12 with that parameter, so I have to manually start Xp12... No big deal though! September 6, 2025Sep 6 I have already made more than ten flights . X Plane 12.3.0 is simply phenomenal. X Plane has just pulled off a masterstroke .This is exactly what I've been waiting for for too long. I uninstalled FS2020 and FS2024.

Mine is set to "0", and yet I do have big CPU times: "_snd_use_ip_51 0" I honestly can't say they were different in previous betas because I usually look only at the FPS statistics...
