Try it in real weather and see if you'd still put 'very' in front of stable. 😀 It can be a handful! Which is good!

  • ? It's a digital reproduction of a Cessna 172. If Carenado call it a 'Cessna' 172 they put themselves in danger of breach of copyright, hence 'Carenado' 172. The same applies to Fenix, Inibu

  • When I first saw this offering from Carenado I kinda poo-pooed it but I bought it anyway (yeah I know) However...It's very good. I never expected to see a Carenado that had jumped the tracks and

  • Somebody finds it 'hilarious' that this is being called a Carenado C172, which is the same as calling the Aerostar the A2A Aerostar, was my point. Unless I am also missing their point.

That was the first thing I found compared to a lot of other aircraft.  It certainly wanders a bit with a bit of wind / turbulence.  Lifts a wing even with a bit of a side wind.

A lot to like about this release.  It has a lot of character, and the sounds are superb.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

It must be kept in mind that it only cost £14!

BUT. 😉 The tyres hit the tarmac with a helluva thump! However buttery your landing is.

One more BUT and that's all. I would have expected the 'barn doors' to be felt rather more than they do.

In my humble non-pilot opinion any other criticism would be a bit mean.

Another BUT. Is there a way to save the GPS change from 530(default) to GTN650(preferred)?

I think you meant GNS430 to GTN650. If you bring up the tablet, click on the "more apps" button, you will see a "C162" app. This allows you to select between the Asobo GNS430, the TDS GTN 650, or the PMS GTN 650.

Oops! 430 530 whatever. The point I was making was that having selected the TDS GTN650 it doesn't remain selected. It has to be changed with every session. I obviously didn't make myself clear.

well that's not good. Hopefully it's a bug that might get fixed someday. I have the GTN's, but still use the GNS's, so I don't see this issue. Good to know about it.

Hello,

From the TDS Sim Software side, we have no ability to control the default GPS upon startup. In the case of the Carenado 172, this is a state bug where the GPS selection does not get saved and this bug must be fixed from Carenado's side.

Thanks for answering. I never thought for a second it was a TDS problem. After all, it works everywhere else. I wondered if there was a little hidey hole where the 'stick' button was. 😕

Seems there ain't one.....Yet. (One hopes) 😉

From memory, I don't think the Carenado birds do remember the last used GPS option, do they?  I know many other devs planes do.   I seem to remember having to set the GTNs in the tablet every time on Carenado aircraft.

A good point. 👍 I'll have a little experiment.
