@Benjamin,

thank you so much for this post and that other at the Fenix update thread.

I'll try to get that SAS livery 🙂

And... from now on I'll remember you each time I'm desperate to get out of there and rush to home play the sim, with Mrs Jcomm @ IKEA... or when I see your name in a furniture model around there  🤣

Hi Everyone, has anyone tried Aviasoft EFB with Active sky FS, I am keen to keep the EFB going for as long as possible as I don't have the cash for the Naivigraph, option at the moment.

Cheers Rob

Hi Rob. I’m using both successfully with P3Dv5. It should work irrespective of the sim you use.

I believe that EFB may no longer be getting the METARs because of the recent upstream providers code change.

Btw, the inbuilt EFB in MSFS 2024 has charts included and is pretty decent for being free and included.

I use the Aivlasoft EFB with Active Sky weather, which works perfectly.

Yes, if you have replaced the live weather metars it may work, but still the point remains that over time this program will have more issues as things change.

Not saying you should switch now, use it while it works, but at some point it will eventually die. Might be worth exploring alternatives while you still have the option to compare these alternatives to Aivlasoft and find something that works for you.

There are no alternatives. Everything else is a major step backwards.

If AS doesn’t change - why would it? - then EFB will continue to work. What makes you think it will “die”?

The EFB will work, but the services it connects to may change how their API works, thus slowly rendering more features unusable. As just happened with the live METAR data pull.

All the devs (Asobo, Fenix, etc) had to update their software to get metars working again. This EFB cannot be updated so you just can no longer get metars in it and so that part is dead. That kind of thing.

I personally hope it keeps working forever so those who use it can keep using it. Good luck to you.

I have nothing further to contribute to this thread.

I can only comment on how it works with Active Sky in P3D. If Hi-Fi are planning to change how data is fed then EFB might not function. But is there any indication they’re planning on that?

I’m out of this too since I don’t run MSFS.
