All of a sudden when I try to set up my takeoff speeds in the Fenix it wont retrieve  the METAR Data and says "No METAR Data Available".

 

What did i do??🤔

AWC recently changed the format of its METAR files and it's catching the whole ecosystem out. I imagine, like everyone else has had to scramble to do, they'll put out an update to parse the updated format.

Just switch it to use the in sim weather for now

It's happened before.   You can enter the data for takeoff into the EFB manually.

Matt, Would you happen to be able to , or know someone who could fix the - Aivlasoft EFB - which is affected  but  there is no Dev to work on it-  it was abandoned because of competition affecting its profitability......    cheers

Check the Fenix Discord, there's a temporary update available that fixes the problem.

Or just use the Navigraph charts' Wx feature that seems to be working until devs catch up with this latest change.

Something like this requires a code change. Unless the developer has given the source code to somebody and that somebody can make the change and compile a new EXE, then I'm afraid there is little chance it will be able to be fixed.

It's not going to happen. Unless the original dev does it, or allows someone to do it.. not gonna happen. You should move on from that EFB, it's clearly dead and will only fall further and further out of support. Might as well make the move to a different EFB that will actually work now and into the reasonable future.

My Aivlasoft EFB uses Active sky weather, will that not work anymore? I am flying with it now.

Unfortunately, there is no EFB that I know of that does easily  anywhere near what Aivlasoft does.

Hi all! Same here. No Metar, as well in 2020 as also in 2024 in two completely different instances. Not in the EFB and also not via WX request in the MCDU. aviationweather.gov redesigned the API so that all endpoints have to be updated. The fix that Fenix already published should work.
