For some reason flying with BATC in MSFS2020 has now become a waste of time for me. A typical 90 minute flight will include about 4 or five connection disconnects! Not sure what to do. I've tried a full reinstall, I always start the program with admin rights, run all settings in the AI section at default 5, added the exe file to the exclusion list in Windows defender and that has made zero difference. Unsure what to do next.... any ideas guys?

Are you also using 2024?  I'm not having any issues w/ BATC in 2024, and have abandoned 2020 as of 5 months ago or so.

 no disconnects in 2024 seems odd you don't  use their discord support

Hi Noel, no, 2020. Not sure what has changed, because I have always been fairly happy with BATC, apart from the few known niggles. But this issue is driving me nuts!

Default ATC is all I need.  It allows me to just fly.

Sounds nasty Rocky I hope you can get to the bottom of it.  I use BATC differently than most, primarily for ambience enhancement as I don't let it manage traffic but instead let it manage my flight only.  For this sacrifice I get far better/smoother AI traffic animation and can use Premium Voices which I much prefer.

Hey Noel, slightly unsure what you are doing... would you mind elaborating? 

Just did 2 flights this weekend no issues. I did have an issue two weeks ago I did a re-install and I was working well after that. You might want to give that a try and see if it addresses your issue.

I have been using BATC since its release with very few problems, and those issues have been resolved very quickly. Are you aware that there are three alternative methods of running BATC? Open GL, DX11 and Vulkan (which is the default). I am permanently on the experimental version now, which runs flawlessly along with the AI traffic, which incidentally is a completely separate program designed to run alongside MSFS and has no effect on fps. I urge you to take some time on the BATC site where you will find all of this information at your disposal. If you are still in trouble, contact the developers on their Discord channel, the address of which you can find on the BATC website.

I forgot to add, the experimental version now has "Local Voices" which are free and almost as good as the paid ones. Well, I can't use it anymore. Started getting errors at startup relating to the update servers. Re-installation and removal of a folder as per their discord instructions hasn't solved anything and I never got additional support beyond said recommendation.

Hi matey, ah, thanks for the detailed reply, appreciated. You have some helpful advice which I appreciate. My first point of call is always Avsim, but as you say, now that I continue to have this problem, I will now pursue it further on the official BATC via the Discord channel. Cheers.

Could be a regional thing, I am having lots of disconnects too so when I start my descend I do not wait for BATC to tell me to continue. I just do it to make sure the approach isn't messed up. But, yes, that is not what I bought the program for.
