And what performance issue are you talking about, considering the night lighting is greatly improved, and demands on hardware would obviously be higher for the improved night lighting?
November 3, 2025Nov 3 Author I presently use no AA slider set to "nill" and opted for FXAA. Well, not perfect, but acceptable since the aircraft I use allow for popup instruments that I can properly read and dimension easily. Yes, over 3 years ago. Taking a look at the hardware used, it's very low spec., and not surprising issues will be had, such as what a poster explained further down the thread. I can't speak for others, as I run X-Plane on a maxed out M4 Max MacBook Pro that has vsync turned on, and my FPS are very stable. If the problems are only at sunrise and sunset, then it's understandable why performance suffers, as outlined again, by the same person a few posts below the top post. 4 hours ago, fluffyflops said: https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/84384-xp12-regain-fps-at-night-simplified-apron-light/?&page=2&tab=comments#comment-410048 patch here is needed. If you disable the scenery, does performance improve? 4 hours ago, fluffyflops said: ive put my msaa down and it helps. If it helps to the point that the performance doesn't suffer too badly, then it's a temporary workaround until a patch comes out for the scenery (if it IS the scenery). 4 hours ago, fluffyflops said: cheers. loving the 330-900 toliss. its the best long haurer out there, in my opinion I don't have it, but I'll take your word for it. I met Toliss at the expo, and he's genuinely a good guy, who deserves many kudos for his work.
November 16, 2025Nov 16 I used to adjust the AA down for night and it bugged me to have to do that. Upgraded my RTX 3060 to an RTX 5070 and now I leave AA on full - night to day has no big FPS changes, and the GPS numbers never go higher than the CPU numbers anymore.
