November 10, 2025Nov 10 After a long time away from using PG decided to enable it and noticed around Denver/KBJC the fall leaf drop wasn't happening as all deciduous trees were looking lush green everywhere. Turned PG off, and then most trees were leafless as they are getting close to now in the real world. Is this issue widespread w/ PG? Did you see fall colors in NA if you use PG, this fall? November 13, 2025Nov 13 Very odd. I have PG enable and noticed the leafy trees already turning their colors, or starting to look bare. I fly around NA, all around Europe and sometimes SA or the Caribbean. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
November 13, 2025Nov 13 Well, if a PG region has nothing but those ugly 3D blobs aka photogrammetry trees, it will of course result in evergreen appearance, as it is based on the satellite image and when this was taken. Only the proper 3D model trees aka autogen trees change with the season... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

November 13, 2025Nov 13 PG/TIN mixes in default trees but yes I've noticed this issue. In early Fall the PG scenes had some early fall colors but later in the season where I'd get barren trees outside PG areas, city areas will then have lush green trees. I've submitted this bug last year. November 13, 2025Nov 13 Author I've noticed something else as well, locally where I live near Denver. From this lovely airport, KBJC, it takes LOD of >=275 to see downtown Denver skyscrapers, w/ PG off. With PG on, they're visible at LOD 200. I hope this isn't the su4 beta as this would show up (again) in the official release. I can see how this will impact GA/VFR people. I will take a look around the Denver area tonight if I can get a chance 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
November 13, 2025Nov 13 Maybe it’s a design decision because the leafy trees (even the colored ones) are hiding the photogrammetry blob trees. If you use trees where the leaves are falling off then you’re not hiding the blobs anymore and it looks like crud. Maybe they decided to keep hiding them as the fall colors fade and leaves are supposed to drop.

It's hard to understand why it is they can't use AI algorithms to make blobs turn into something else, even duplicate the adjacent texture. November 14, 2025Nov 14 I mean yeah that could be annoying. At this point, I am just happy with the performance overall so I can fly my planes without stutters/sound popping during landing (which for me was kind of bad for a while). So, if a tree looks off then it probably means I landed ahem...too close to one to notice it. 😁 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

It is hard to understand but it also may not be that simple or they probably would have done it. And since all of the Photogrammetry fixes that 3rd parties do are for small areas and have to be done by hand I can see why they haven't tackled it. Not saying it's great but maybe the AI isn't that good? How does it differentiate between a tree blob and other blobs? It would be awesome if it worked but I think this is a limitation of the way it works in the sim.

November 15, 2025Nov 15 Posted in another thread earlier today, but it was last active a good month or two ago, so I will try my luck here. It is regarding the need or if you are not using the Map Enhancement mod anymore in 2024? Have read a fair bit about it, some say that in 2024 it is not worth using it compared to before in 2020. I am still on 2020, and after SU16 the scenery quality is such a setback, and not often I critizise directly, but both that and what happened to the night lighting in 2024 is something that shouldn't have happened. Night lighting worse than SU16 (SU4 fixed it, edited in), and managing without knowing how to max the scenery to 512x512 is simply not good enough, and when PG was just about usable before due to scenery elsewhere making up for it, now the melted buildings and slow loading really makes me consider turning it off as well. I am still hanging on to using PG within the sim (no rolling cache there) and the latest bing maps in the map enhancement mod (30GB cache), and it works quite well except for the mess Asobo did with the scenery. Yes, it looks alright, but a huge setback compared to a while ago. Started on experiencing with the color settings in the map enhancement mod and have used only -15 on brightness and right now trying out -5 brightness, +10 Conttrast and +20 Saturation after a recommendation, so feel free to share your settings if still using the mod. November 15, 2025Nov 15 Despite all of these comments about SU16 having degraded the scenery in MSFS 2020, I still do not see it. The terrain scenery textures look just as clear as I remember them.
