2024 startup stuck at 0%, then I received error 002-902.

It's been working properly since this morning, but for an hour, 2024 loading has been stuck at 0%.

After a long wait, I received error 002-902 from the server.

Msfs 2020 is working properly.

Hello @RobPol471,

Issues such as the one you described here are almost always caused by an outdated or incompatible add-on. Please try removing all content from your Community folder and relaunching the sim. If that works, then re-add your mods until you find the one that is causing the issue.

Thanks,

SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager

Hi SeedyL,

Thanks, but I also started with the Community empty and the startup always remains at 0%.

It's better to avoid some "advices".

It started a little while ago, although it's very slow up to about 20%, then continues to the end at the same loading speed as before.
The scenarios are loading regularly.

Ciao Claudio,

It's almost certainly a problem we Italians have with the server!

I can confirm that starting up to about 20% is still  slow, taking more than a minute, considering that previously the entire loading process took me about 30-40 seconds.

This sounds like the sim can't access the ms servers.  Either the server may be down or playing up or your internet connection has stopped or slowed.

From your end, you could disconnect your PC from the internet, reboot your router, reconnect your PC and try a speedtest to check your internet speed and latency.

If all that is OK, you may just have to wait for MS to fix something with one of their servers or try accessing msfs via a VPN from a different part of the world.

The problem can often be an addon, which is why most people suggest renaming the community folder, but I note you have already done that.

Thanks cianpars,
but I'm afraid you didn't read yesterday's post where I said that, albeit very slowly, MSFS2024 loading had returned.
Today everything went back to normal and loading takes about 40 seconds.

I'm slightly p..... off when reading similar harmful advices coming from "MSFS Community Managers", hoping that no simmers didn't follow him on this way, driving nuts adding and/or removing addons in the community folder, when the problem was caused from the MS server side.

Lol, yeah, the advice was really "harmful". 😆

I believe the "harmful" comment referred to SeedyL posting "Please try removing all content from your Community folder", which might be taken literally...

Hello @Claudius_,

There is nothing harmful at all about my advice. Launching the sim with an empty Community folder is one of the very first troubleshooting steps anyone should take if you encounter issues when trying to load the sim. This helps you determine if the issue is with the sim itself or if it's caused by one or more of your mods/add-ons. If the sim launches fine with an empty Community folder, then you can re-add your mods back to your Community folder until you find the one that is causing the issue. If the sim doesn't launch with an empty Community folder, then you have a data point to show that the issue isn't caused by one of your add-ons.

These troubleshooting steps are posted on our Zendesk support page for all simmers to follow if they have problems launching the sim:

Disable your community folder.
After an update, mods and add-ons might become outdated or incompatible with the sim. If issues continue after following the Windows troubleshooting checklist, move or rename your community folder.

  • Close MSFS 2024
  • Navigate to your community folder that is located by default here:
  • Xboxapp/MS Store
  • C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
  • Steam
  • C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
  • You can move the folder to a different location or rename the folder (ex: Community_Test).

Kind regards,

The suggestion to manipulate hundreds of gigabytes of addons was not only wrong but potentially damaging. It sent me on a time-consuming search for a non-existent problem, when the fault was clearly with Microsoft's servers. If this advice came from a person and not a bot, it reflects a concerning level of incompetence.

How so? It's enough to rename the community folder, and that's a matter of 10 seconds, no risk involved.
