December 10, 2025Dec 10 Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought there was a new LOD curve setting in SU4 graphics setting section that we could adjust to reduce object culling? I'm unable to find any such setting? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

I'm unable to find any such setting? The new lod curve doesnt have a setting, its just how the LOD system works within the sim. Developers decide at what distance, which LOD shows. The way the engine handles it has changed. You can read about it in the SDK which is available online. Edited December 10, 2025Dec 10 by rick celik

The culling is still a matter of fact. Cheers Rob and happy flying anyway! Marcus Regards, Marcus P.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 Wait so they are back at popping planes from less than 8nm ? I thought that they increased the distance at whcih we can see other planes. In SU3 it looked like they set it to MSFS20 distance which was about 25nm -> from this distance I was able to see the planes around me when in cruise and when at the gate. But I remember at the start of MSFS24 it was like 8nm. Edited December 10, 2025Dec 10 by Jovzin

I guess I need to make a choice, air carrier inaccuracy but get landing gear with FS Traffic OR gearless AIG models but very accurate with LiveTraffic data. Are you enjoying MSFS2024 now? I use FSLTL base and injector, with FSTRAFFIC models as fallback. So far fine, sometimes strange traffic behavior on taxi routes (Models turning 360s etc). PSXT + LiveTraffic is extremely accurate provided the carriers exist which AIG does an excellent job at providing the models. I’ll have to investigate and see if there are any options for me to do some sort of BATCH LOD processing on the models … I haven’t really spent any time investigating the models in AIG so have no idea what may or may not be modified. December 10, 2025Dec 10 I'd pay money for an updated set just so we can have landing gears back. It's such an immersion killer. Like I'm flying down to the T a procedure through a beautifully lit storm into a photorealistic airport, beautiful scenery, grease a landing, everything just looks astonishing, in an aircraft that's got more tech behind it than entire simulators of the past. I vacate of the runway. And there's a bloody 777 floating in the air.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 So this is an issue with the AIG models that needs to be fixed by them? Noting FSTraffic appears to not suffer the issue... Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

It's all a bit Vatsim specific for now. I have no intention of ever using Vatsim. But good for them they seem to be getting a workaround sorted.

The topic is all about the gear culling Lod issues.
