I was about to pull the trigger on the TFDi, then found there are no AAO scripts available for it? 😔

PS... in case you try searching Google, the 2 Streamdeck profiles on FS.TO don't have an AAO script included with them.

Can any helpful owner of the TFDi MD-11  please advise whether any of these standard MSFS key commands work:-

- Heading bug inc and dec

- Heading select mode

- Nav mode

- Altitude preselector inc and dec

(I know it's a heavily custom autopilot, hence asking 👍)

Not right now. Always found TFdi half baked in FSX /P3D times. 

And the MD-11 does not create the absolute hype to be a must have?

I have created a fully functional AP panel for the TFDI MD11F using Stream Deck+/ Pilotsdeck (by Fragtality). Only AAO scripts I used is to control the COM Radios.

For the rest, I used AAO event logger and mapped all AP buttons (virtually the whole glareshield + parts of the overhead) to MSFS/RPN Code.

All variables where identified using AAO.

Button Graphics done in Gimp Graphics Editor.

The same setup works fine in XP12 and Rotate  Md11, just swapped to XP Datarefs / commands instead.

But good Lord it is a time consuming chore.

To be fair, TFDi published a fairly extensive integration guide with the Lvars and events used by the MD-11 panel, so sleuthing the internals really isn't necessary. 

I use FSUIPC and a Streamdeck, and haven't had any issues mapping controls to controller buttons and keys.

I have the TFDI MD 11 mapped to my Velocity One flight stick and haven't come across any issues yet. Nice plane to fly once you get used to it's not a Boeing or Airbus. TFDI did a nice effort on their plane.

Could you give me a pointer as to where the event logger is accessed in AAO?  So that I can try to learn how to use it.

 I have just looked through all of the menus (Hardware, Tools, Application, etc) and cannot find any mention of the event logger.

Hey.

Not at my computer, but it is under 'scripting' tab, and then 'watch simulator events', I believe.

Check the box to ignore spam events and you should be good.

I can see the controls that I want to bind, in this list, from the guide:-

...but I don't (yet) know how or where to assign these or how this works in AAO.

So I did a little test with the event logger and the C172.   Pressed the AP NAV button and saw the event in the logger.

So is there a way I enter this event's ID in the control assignments?

Sorry for the questions and I don't expect a full tutorial here 😄

Even finding this event logger is a good start for me 👍

Yes, there are Scripts for the TFDI MD-11.

It ships with the addon after you've Purchased and installed the MD-11 to MSFS2024 and MSFS2020.

How to Find it:

Start Lorby AAO,

- When it's running

- Add New Button "+" icon

- LMB Key Down Event (Or, Key up event, depending on what you are trying to achieve)

- Look across top RH of new window that opens

- in the last selection you should see will be Aircraft SDKs

-Check that Selection

- You Should now see TFDi_MD11

- LMB the arrow Icon next to that option

- You will now see all the coded EVT options to program all of your buttons as you see fit.

They don't have scripts, but they work just fine. Just install them into Stream Deck and you are good to go.

Sorry, I didn't explain above - I don't use a streamdeck.  I use the AAO scripts to assign custom features to key commands or hardware buttons on my hardware.

Thanks to fantastic help from @SAS443 and @toucanair, it is indeed the case that an AAO script is not needed to bind the MD-11's custom AP buttons and knobs to keys and hardware buttons.

All of the assignments are in the "Aircraft SDK" section of AAO, just as Toucanair suggested.

I'm just closing this one off so that if other people search for an AAO script for the TFDi MD-11, they'll hopefully see this and be happy, as I am now. 😊
