January 28Jan 28 Hello, I purchased MSFS 2024 from the MS Store one week ago and have been unable to launch the simulator once since purchase. I opened a ticket with Zendesk and have received a couple of replies outlining steps to correct the problem. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. Each time when trying to get the sim to launch I encounter "syncing" and "authenticating" errors (i.e. one of the errors I receive is Error code 2000). In addition to the Zendesk recommended actions I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sim per a previous AVSIM thread on Error code 2000. As I recently purchased a PC specifically to run MSFS 2024 (i.e Win 11, Intel Ultra9 285K CPU, RTX 5090 GPU, 64 GB Ram) this has been beyond frustrating. I am switching from XP11 on an older PC. Trying to think a bit out of the box, I am considering uninstalling my MSFS store purchase and then repurchasing MSFS 2024 from Steam, thinking a Steam install might somehow work better. Does that action have any merit? Thank you for any help or comments.

What outlining steps did you receive to correct the problem? When syncing and authentication errors occur I also would look at what turbomax mentioned, look at current date and time settings in the Windows settings under Time & Language and then sync them (day will probably be OK, time could be off a bit, enough to give sync errors). January 28Jan 28 @ hitter439, Can you open Task Manager and look for "gamingservices.exe". It may have become corrupted or there may be multiple instances of it running at the same time. Tell Task Manager to "End Task" - Don
January 28Jan 28 Sign out and resign in Xbox and Store apps. Next, on the launch icon for MSFS 2024 right click it, open App Settings, scroll to Reset and choose Repair. If that doesn't work try choosing Reset. January 28Jan 28 Author Thank you all so very much for your responses. All of your suggestions were extremely helpful and acted upon. The suggestion by Flameout01 to "open Task Manager and look for gamingservices.exe" has appeared to ultimately solve the problem! I did find 2 instances of gamingservices.exe running and told Task Manager to "End Task" on both of them. After doing so, MSFS 2024 is launching correctly. Hopefully this launch issue will not re-occur. Thank you all again so much for taking the time to help me. Looking forward now to getting the simulator set-up and enjoying it as all of you are.
January 29Jan 29 Every once in a while someone has the courtesy of acknowledging the answer to their problem. Always helpful to others searching for the answer to the same issue. Well done hitter. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Just wondering... Did you reboot once while trying to get 2024 to launch? Because if yes, gamingservices.exe should not be running twice (you should have 2 Gaming Services running but one points to gamingservices.exe and the other to gamingservicesnet.exe). And if you did reboot and still had that same problem, where does that second gamingservices.exe gets launched from?
