February 1Feb 1 Just wanted to share this awesome addon which is a game changer, sorry, sim changer especially for us 2020 users. Flying at night looks so much better now. MSFS DarkStreets for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS Tapani Österberg
February 1Feb 1 Thank you! I no longer use FS 2020, but I'll check, just in case iot also works for FS 2024. Night lighting is still way bright for my liking. I have in MSFS 2024 twice what I would like to have in Xp12 regarding night lighting 😕 EDIT: Ah! this is also for FS 2024, and the author didn't initially cut it for European cities but he did it meanwhile. Has been discussed at another thread from 2 weeks ago, if I'm not wrong, but no problem! It was great to remind me of downloading it 🙂 Edited February 1Feb 1 by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Yep airliners are 99% of my MSFS 2024 sim time indeed, but 50% of that time is spent in short training circuits around airports under bad weather, sometimes during dusk, dawn or night... There is an LOD bug with exclusion polygons in MSFS 2024 so the lights will pop in and out around you....hopefully fixed in SU5 whenever that is announced.... February 1Feb 1 Author I almost bit the bullet and decided that I will try 2024 first on Game Pass, how it will work and feel. But after finding this addon, decided that no, no need for all that hassle and work. Have had some wonderful flights with my 2020 which works like a charm. So 2020 it is for me. Tapani Österberg

Same here, but I would say 90% Airliner and 10% GA…🙂… I’m interested if it looks better than the default we have now in MSFS2024. I routinely do (short) test flights around departure and arrival airports, to get an advance idea of the local topography, approach path etc. especially at night time, usually over city zones. I did several up and around EDDF/Frankfurt recently. And after all, departure and final approach are some of the most exciting times for us long-haulers…visually speaking…🙂… I read that this improves night lighting of the non-urban areas. The pictures shown look like, will enhance long-hauler experience too, and exactly what I’m looking for… Edited February 1Feb 1 by P_7878

Pretty much like wha you would see from a plane IRL. If it wasn’t for that horrible Sepia i would just stay in 2020 Edited February 1Feb 1 by roi1862 MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

I can tell it might make a difference to the (virtual) user experience in both GA and Airliner flying. Of course, with continuing (upcoming) updates in MSFS2024, saw the extensive list only yesterday for SU5, I’m wondering if it will be worth it or/and might even conflict…

From the developer: As of this release, MSFS 2024 still has a bug impacting the effective range of exclusion polygons, so you will likely see lights disappear ahead of you and reappear behind you as you fly. MSFS 2020 is not affected by this bug, and the effect can be seen to the horizon. If you wish for this bug to be fixed sooner rather than later, you can politely report the issue on the MSFS Forums so it gets some visibility from the MS/Asobo teams.
